and % effectively makes that 3 games clear!

If we win next week, surely top spot is all but stitched up? we will be 3 games clear and %, so lets say 4 games. We would then have to win 1 of our last 5 to have it nailed down. Surely we will do that :p

This is all based on IF we win next week against the eagles....

So after never finishing minor premier until last year, we are a huge chance to go back to back.

This all means nothing of course if we cant go all the way come September....

But a nice place to be in!

Gotta say after watching that game I'd feel very comfortable playing the Eagles in a pressure cooker situation such as a GF. Some of their players are very undisiplined (Judd, Kerr, Banfield) and they seem to lack on field leadership. Also they have a bigger joke of a forward line than we did from 2001 - 2004

Thats assuming Melbourne dont win the next 2 games right?

But yes I get the point you are getting across, I predicted during the home and away season to not do as well if we had a lot of injuries. Was very glad to be wrong.

Effectively, Crows will have to lose three games and West Coast or Melbourne win every match for the rest of the minor round to knock Adelaide off top spot.

Just out of interest, who are the Crows tall key position forwards that win finals ?

Ricciuto, Burton, Welsh, Hentshel:thumbsu:

Certainly beats the crap out of Lynch (Big Useless), footsteps McDougall and (I can only get uncontested posessions) Wirrapunda.

This isn't a "Adelaide don't have a matchwinning KPP/forward line" argument is it?

Statistically we've the best attack and defence in the comp by a mile.

If you've learned anything from watching Adelaide in this season it's that individuals don't matter. It's all about 18 blokes coming together to forge a winning team.

Hell of a lot better than Michael Gardiner's efforts as the tall forward in last years grand final. One of the biggest reasons for the loss imho.

we will win our first final by 10 goals
You are way too cocky & the reason why us less cocky supporters have abuse thrown at us by oppositions supporters when we lose!

Finals are another kettle of fish.

I was going to start a thread but this looks a good enough spot

Goalsetting...how important is the next 6 games in the overall scheme? Is it important to keep winning and try and achieve a 20-2 season or should we look further and play our best 22 into fitness, even if it is at the expense of a few losses and finish 18-4

The only issue I have with goalsetting is that once you reach the top of the mountain ie 20-2 .. you have to reset the goals. I have no fear Neil Craig will do so...just interested in others thoughts.

You can bookmark it all you want ... if you want to remind everyone that you are an arrogant tosser who gives the majority of Crows supporters a bad name.

We are very well placed, but here is hell of a long way to go this season - the flag is a long way off. As a Glenelg supporter responding to a Rooster supporter, you would think you would know better.

Well, last night's win basically guaranteed a top 4 berth given the fact sides below us do play each other and one has to lose i.e. West Coast vs Saints, Sydney vs Melbourne, Saints vs Bulldogs and Melbourne vs Bulldogs. Easiest way to see if side can overtake you is take our wins and add their losses, if it adds to over 21 (normally 22 but our % means another win this year) then they can't overtake you. We will know more come tomorrow night after the last three games have been played (best results would be Port, Geelong and Freo winning but I let the Saints win to give our cousins more pain).

Exactly right, Finals as we quickly discovered last year is a whole new ball game, there are no second chances or next weeks, it is do or die, dont think cause we have a 'double chance' if we lose in the first week that is ok cause it isnt that is what screwed our whole finals campaign in 2005 the loss to ST Kilda.

Take nothing for granted, find some passion and get behind the boys 100%.

just as an observation (long term), I think good teams lose finals because senior players get selfish and 2nd tier players accept and allow, in some cases help this happen.
I don't believe for a millisecond that we will be any less of a balanced team in this years final series, and we wont get sucked into anything, just the same game, but harder at it (if that's possible).
Whilst i agree with the sentiments towards posting like Roosterlad did, he's probably right;)

PS; I gave it so bad to several port mates in their choking year that I will always cop it when we loose finals.
