After Carlton’s premiership triumph over Geelong in 1995, a nine-year-old Loynes decided she was supporting the Blues, a side Collingwood-loving mother Janette could not have hated much more.

KATIE Loynes can reel off her Carlton idols as though she's reading them from a page.

"'Kouta', 'Braddles', 'SOS', 'Diesel'," she says effortlessly, citing the nicknames of club greats Anthony Koutoufides, Craig Bradley, Stephen Silvagni and Greg Williams.

"I remember going to Princes (now Ikon) Park as a kid and watching them play. To now feel so part of the club, with the way it's merged the two teams together, has been great."

The Carlton Football Club is pleased to announce inaugural AFLW Blue Katie Loynes as the Club’s AFLW Recruiting Manager.

The 2018 AFLW Best and Fairest winner will continue to pull on the Navy Blue jumper in season 2020, but will have a new role off-field.
