I have never heard of that rule until recently, can anyone confirm it?

Not only with their players, snakebite01 ...

In yesterday's Tiser, didn't that survey showed that the PAPs rate Chokeo higher than Matthews, Malthouse and Sheedy?

Yeah I know and then on 5AA KG went psycho at the Crows' supporters for not voting Ayres no. 1 coach. That is just stupid. Atleast our supporters had a bit of integrity about them and voted for who they really thought was the best coach rather than just our coach. What is the point in that survey if KG wants Crows fans to vote for all Crows things. Then it's not a real survey finding out what we think about footy is it, it's just confirming we are all Crows fans.

Brogan is a better ruckman than Biglands, like I said if he got the opportunities Biglands got in playing in a considerably less talented ruck team he would have consolidated himself as a good AFL ruckman IMO.

Remember Port sacked Biglands for Brogan ;)

I like little Derek Murray but I wouldn't go as far as saying he was a better prospect than John(ock as Johnco(k is in an AFL starting 22 whilst Murray seems to be on the outer at Port. When Murray was drafted he was a better prospect than Johnco(k currently is and I am one of the few Port supporters who believe he can still live up to that potential :(

As for Lade for Johnco(k we would be getting shafted big time in that trade. Lade is a game breaker, they don't call him the money man for nothing ;)

Zombie, I think you have underrated Biglands severely considering He and Clarke have arguably the best statistical figures in the AFL for ruckmen. I know the stats can lie however the amount of times they get it to our midfielders is astonishing.

As for John(ock, we wouldn't give him up for Lade. I would hardly say you would be getting shafted 'big time' as Lade hasn't had a full season for 3 years and IMO is passed his best and will not gain back the confidence he once had. John(ock OTOH, has just completed his first full season of actually playing and is looking the goods and a far better prospect than Lade at this stage.

Johnc()ck will be as good as Pickett, I'd be very surprised if he goes anywhere. Biglands isn't bad - he's still very obviously developing and has improved a lot in the last 2 years. He'd be in the 2nd tier of ruckmen in the league, not in the Primus/Darcy/King class but certainly in the bracket behind them.

I see Ayres was quoted in the Advertiser today, posing a few "what ifs" about 2003, said something like "will Clarke and Biglands continue to ruck well, or will Ben Marsh challenge for a spot".

Seemed like a strange comment to make, unless he's trying to up his value as a trade. I would have thought Marsh was finished at the Crows. Never could understand why Ayres didn't try him more as a forward, as Blighty did. Marsh always looked his best as a forward/ruckman, not a ruckman/defender.

Ive said on an elsewhere post that we probably should keep Marsh. He just needs a public rocket ala Pitman to perhaps test his character.

It only takes an injury to ....... nah, Im not goin there

Ayres would have his reasons for bringing up the Marsh " What If" but just maybe he thinks hes worth keeping

Heres 2 special boundary line plays that made me admire Stiffy during the year.

1. Bundling Houlihan ( I think it was) over the line in a show of strength at Optus in Round 9

2. Leaving two eagles floundering in his wake as he snatched the ball that was half over the line , burnt off Wirrapunda with a"time warping" dash to kick a sensational running goal from the flank at Suby in Round 14
;) ;)

Pitman has character, Marsh doesn't appear to! Pitman was an under-rated team player. Marsh has ample opportunity & it's time to go. I would even prefer Hewitt in the ruck.

You've got me confused at the moment Jars. Trying to bump a legend like Smarty & hold on to a dud like Marsh.

If he was from Whyalla you could put it down to the red dust but seeing as jars is from Pirie maybe we could blame a bit of the excess lead , :)
