I’m a huge Brock Mclean fan and I don’t think much has came out of the 2003 national draft except for this born leader who will further excel his credentials this year. a real chance for the Brownlow this season and I firmly believe he will be in the top three midfielders within three years... in hindsight which of these 5 players would you have drafted giving what you have seen?

Oh, here we go again. Another little Brock talk up thread. For the record, the rankings for that draft at this stage:
#1 Cooney
#2 Walker
#3 Ray
#4 Brock

#10-30 Sylvia.

:)

Sylvia will be a good player dont write him off to early. He has shown enough that he will be good.

Whaddaya know... the only vote for Stanton thus far was registered by a bombers supporter! I Like you're realism premiers2000

def agree.. Sylvia will be a sensation when he can keep clear of injuries however another interrupted pre-season has haltered progress....
i would pick Mclean over Cooney anyday....

Are you serious? Stanton has been better than all of those players bar Brock and Cooney

Wasn't Monfries taken in the same draft as well? He goes alright too I heard

Cooney
Brock
Walker

in that order.
All future game breakers.
Cooney and Brock have already done it on several occasions.
While Walker only once, and a few game saving negating roles.

Great picks there clubs.

Cooney closely followed by Mclean.

Stanton and Mundy next in line.

Blokes like Kepler Bradley, Walker and Sylvia shouldnt even be mentioned in this poll.

Poor troll.

Walker is a gun and he didn't concede an inch to Hird last week. :thumbsu:

If he beats his man week in, week out and set up play like he did tonight I really don't care what the other 2003 draftees do. :)

But he doesn't, and never has, he's very inconsistent and is yet to put in a good couple of games in a row, plays well one week, plays like a dog the next. Walker's game against Essendon wasn't great, beat an aging Hird and put in a performance seen from other HBF (Shaw, just as good or better) or Goddard (miles better) that by comparison wasn't special.

He deserves to be in this poll. You're basing your opinion on what he might do, he might become another failure as well. You're telling me that if McLean became the next Buckley, you wouldn't care? Of course you would.

Just letting you all know that One of Walkers votes was by Parrot who has rated Cooney the better player. Good try Parrot

2006:
Round 9: 22 disposals, 6 marks
Round 10: 22 disposals, 6 marks
Round 13: 21 disposals, 11 marks
Round 14: 18 disposals, 2 marks (one of very few who played well in that game)
Round 17: 27 disposals, 8 marks
Round 18: 22 disposals, 8 marks
Round 19: 17 disposals, 4 marks
Round 20: 20 disposals, 6 marks
Round 21: 19 disposals, 7 marks
Round 22: like everyone except Setanta, he had an absolute shocker.

These performances came while playing mostly as a run with/defensive player & certainly dispel your theory that he plays one good game & then plays like a dog. As he has got more games under his belt, his consistency has improved, as these figures demonstrate. He has now also played 2 very good games in a row in the NAB Cup ( I know it is only the pre-season), but it is clearly apparent that the good games are occuring most weeks now.
