14 wins 8 Losses; Predicted Finish: 4th-6th at the end of the minor round

Why?

Geelong's early draw is favourable, playing mostly teams that suit our game. Round 1 will see us keen to avenge our embarrassing losses of the last 2 yrs to the Bullfrogs, and providing we don't fall asleep at 1/2 time this should be a comfortable win. Whilst I am confident that improvement against both sides will be shown, I believe that we will lack the physical strength to defeat either of Port Adelaide or Brisbane.

I also believe that despite necessity to the contrary, the Hawthorn hoodoo will remain, whilst once again we should send a timely reminder to the Crows (SCUM) of the mistake they made on the Burns factor, and that cheating will only get you so far. Collingwood and St. Kilda will again provide valuable percentage along with the Tigers, whilst Essendon will again struggle to keep up with the youth and enthusiasm, and with a coach who doesn't suffer from Alzheimer's. All in all this will be a successful 22 rounds, and though I think the flag may just be beyond us, footy is a funny game.

Just for the record my tip for the flag is Port Adelaide (because if I don't say so my Port mate who is next to me at the moment will thump the cr*p out of me!) However, it is also because they have added strength to their list, and have broken the shackles of september victory in the AFL. My mate informs me that the hunger at Port is strong and this should finally be enough to bring yet another flag to Alberton. As for who will fight it out? IMHO, Brisbane can't make it to 3 consecutive last saturday's in september and Collingwood were a mere flash in the pan last season. Though my Port mate will laugh at this prediction I genuinely predict he and I will again lock horns as we do so often, but this time the outcome is beyond our control.

Re The Bulldogs

And doesnt that speak volumes for the history of the dogs...No desent past players...they had to scrape the dregs from the bottom of the barrel just to field a team of the century. Ok, Grant yes... the rest.........ah, NO SIREE!

AND FOR THE RECORD, the only times your beloved dogs can ever defeat my cats, is when we go home halfway through the 3rd term!

But look, u just let us know when you wake up, okay!

Bye Bye,

Game Set And Match, Geelong!

Trust me when I say this - Geelong will not defeat the Bulldogs on two occasions in 2003.

I agree....

With the 2 sides also meeting in the Wizard Cup as well as twice during the home and away season, it could be 3 wins. ;)

I was about to say, I will take that, as the Bulldogs will beat Geelong twice in the Finals to win the premiership. However, I knocked some sense into myself and I worked out the odds of Geelong making the eight are the same odds of Liverpool finishing above Chelsea - 50/1. :p

Believe me when I say this - Geelong has no hope defeating the Bulldogs more than once. I even struggle to believe Geelong will beat the Bulldogs once, but twice ... No. Not a chance.

Just out of interest, when was the last time the Bulldogs managed to beat Geelong in a finals match?? I am betting it was in the 1950's.

Correct, Footscray beat Geelong twice in finals in the 50's , in the 1954 semi and repeated that in the 1956 semi. Since then, Geeong has beaten the bulldogs five times

1976 - Elimination Final
1992 - Qualifying Final and Preliminary Final
1994 - Qualifying Final
1995 - Qualifying Final
