the only way perrie would end up at the eagles is through the preseason draft.

waters cant be traded this year by AFLPA law because its his first year in a contract. plus he is worth more to us than stenglien would and he was no11 pick in last years draft.

the best your gonna get is a second round pick for stenglein. we need KPP players too much to give up a first round pick for a midfielder. its been reported over in the west we are chasing mcpharlin, hadrill, polak, thompson and ottens (partner is west australian).

Best case scenario for us as far as long term future is concerned is to not win more than 1 game for the rest of the year. That would give us 2 picks in the top 5 or 6. Since thats unlikely to happen then I am of firm belief that we MUST trade into the top 10 so we have 2 picks in the top 10. This would enable us to pick up a tall and a midifelder. As I said I doubt Franklin will lasst past top 2 or 3 picks because both Hawks and Richmond are after talls and he one of the best if not the best.

Trading Stenglein to WC for Waters would be a very good move. This would give us someone we can use as a tagger to replace Stinger and some much needed toughness in the midfield. Waters is a 10 year player. Then I would LOVE to see club trade someone like Burton for a pick in the top 10 (most likely we would need to add something there to balance it out) so we end up with 2 top 10 picks BUT I would be very surprised if AFC had the balls to trade someone like Burton for a draft pick.

The end result is we have 2 picks in the top 10. We have a player who was picked up at #11 the year before and we would still have a pick early in teh 2nd and 3rd rounds to work with.
ottens might throw all that out the window tho.we would at the very least want your 1st rnd pick.

cheers!

Stenglein's in our best 10 players, but we need a ruckman.

If we can't get Ottens, then we need to offer Tyson to West Coast for Dean Cox (who would be - when Gardiner's not there - in the Eagles' best 10).

For the record Cox is 23, Stenglein is 24.

Thoughts?

At they 'very least' our first round pick? Fat chance of that. You need to take a long hard look at Ottens.

AND STOP SAYING 'CHEERS!'! YOU'RE RUINING THE WORD FOR ME!

I would be very surprised if we traded our 1st round draft pick. Ottens shouldn't be a priority, he should be an opportunity.

ha ha how annoying is that chump! :p

the tiges wont need out 1st rounder anyway they'll have a priority pick! and the AFC will not be so dumb (again) in handing over another 1st round pick...

im hoping the talk about Stinger is the same as the talk about Johncock...bulls***! the club definitely hold him in high regard so hopefully he can be persuaded (if he is indeed thinking about going home) to stay...i can see more opportunities in the AFC midfield than the WCE midfield!

I still don't think Adelaide would take that.

They would either want a Waters or a first round pick. That might take some balancing up with a Perrie or a 2nd or 3rd round pick depending on how keen West Coast really are.
I would agree will need more than just Stenglein to get a 1st round pick.
Stenglein and 3rd round/Perrie for Waters would be around the mark though?

Agreed
1st Round pick off limits.
Ottens is an opportunity, but no club will offer an early first round, maybe late first round?

I continue to hope and prey Stenglein leaves the midfield for a HB flank.
This club and supporters seriously over-rate his midfield abilities.
