St K - With such a talented list, they must at least play in the GF or it's time to say goodbye to Thomas. A fit Kossie is the key. IMO their most important big man. Riewoldt must not be given the captaincy it seemed a crazy decision in the first place when you have the likes of Hayes, Ball, Kossie and Hamill.

West Coast - Even with an ordinary forward line, they're midfield should guarantee a top 4 finish.

Adelaide - Excellent midfield and backline. No Pav, Brown, Riewoldt up forward but still very dangerous - Kenny, Welsh, Trent and Pez can all kick 4-5 on their day. Hard forward line for the opposition to match up on. Must blood more youth. The clock if ticking fast.

Sydney - Top 4 again. Will be around the mark again. Ball will be huge loss.

Brissie - Will improve in '06. Still a great midfield and some genuine match winners in their spine. Needs a fully fit/suspension free Brown available for the majority of the year.

Geelong - Ottens must fire and must spend the majority of the year up forward. Solid midfield, good backline.

Port Power - Will be a threat come September. Needs to capitalise in the next 2-3 years before their best player in Tredrea reaches the end. Not a good time to be rebuilding the midfield as that will probably take 2-3 years. How S Burgoyne goes in the middle could well be a major factor in their 2006 fortunes.

Melbourne - Same as 05. Will look like world beaters one week and then play poorly the following.

Freo - Make or break for Connolly. Must at least make the 8. I don't think they will.

Kangas - Not sure how to rate them. Can't see that Hay will add a hell of alot. Similar year to 05.

Western Bulldogs - Quality young midfield. I see their lack of spine as their major concern. Overrated.

Essendon - Poor midfield. Not really impressed with their players in the under 22 age bracket. If Lloyd, Hird or Fletcher miss alot of games they may even slide further.

Collingwood - Some quality young talls. No midfield.

Hawthorn - Quality young list. Could well be a future powerhouse but not for at least 2-3 years. Need to get rid of Vanderberg as captain, embarrasing.

Richmond - I expect a slide. Their midfield looks okay but their spine is non-existent.

Carlton - Poor list. Bottom 2 is a certainty.

Adelaide - yeah I'm biased. But I haven't forgotten the irresistable football we played from June to August either.

St Kilda - you all know reasons, talented list. Consecutive prelim final appearances. Should make the Granny.

Geelong - I'm not absolutely sold on the Cats. But their fans insist that injuries ruined 2005, in a year where they went within seconds of a preliminary final appearance.

Brisbane - should bounce back. Their stars are aging but you sense still they're capable of better than they were this year. And their youngsters will only get better.

West Coast - I thought they were ordinary from July onwards. Went within a goal of a premiership yet still somehow unconvincing. Unless they can find their form from early-mid 2005 they'll drop a few spots.

Sydney - everyone's will be predicting some sort of decline for the Swans next year. I tend to agree.

Fremantle - surely they'll make the finals next year. Surely!

Kangas - reasonable spread of talent there. I think if Thompson maintains his form another finals appearance beckons.

Richmond - on the improve with Wallace; but I'm not silly enough to tip a finals appearance. 9th is very Tiger-esque. When's Brown due back?

Western Bulldogs - will be everyone's favourite finals "smokie", but like SpringChoke I'm unconvinced.

Melbourne - lack a superstar or two for my liking.

Port Adelaide - on the decline.

Hawthorn, Essendon, Collingwood, Carlton - meh

END OF ROUND 22

St Kilda - awesome list, great draw
Sydney - very tough game plan to beat
West Coast - midfield will carry the team to the top 4
Geelong - heartbreak of 2005 will be fresh in their minds
Adelaide - will slide due to youth policy (but take the flag from 5th :D)
Western Bulldogs - big improvers if they get all thir players back from injury
Fremantle - finished off 2005 fairly strongly, make or break for connoly
Melbourne - another mediocre year for the D's

Richmond - on the rise, good young list blending well wit a bit of experience
Port - were at their peak for 4 years, will continue their slide down the mountain
Brisbane - same as port
Kangaroos - dont rate at all
Collingwood - crap midfield, not enough stars
Essendon - crap midfield, cant see them winning many games
Hawthorn - still rebuilding, in a few years they will be a force due to bull******** draft rules
Carlton - jus crap everywhere, overpaid players, will definetely get priority picks

Your in for a very long 3 years. Just ask Marcus. He wont be going to the grand final for quite a while.

West Coast - Very classy side, should build on this year and win it next
St.Kilda - Should get to the GF, but they will fk it up as they have so many times before
Sydney - Very honest, quality side. Should be around the mark. Dont have the class players of WC or Saints
Adelaide - Should be around the mark again. Not quite enough to go all the way though
Geelong - Good solid list, but dont seem to have the polish of the top few
Kangaroos - Have traded quite well, but Laidley is very average IMO
Essendon - Dont miss finals often and wont next season IMO
W Bulldogs - Classy young players coming through, not quite ready for the top 4 yet though

Brisbane - Their rebuilding, will just miss IMO
Richmond - Could be a chance to make the 8, but I hope not
Port - Rebuilding years ahead for port
Melbourne - Are just a pretty average side IMO.
Fremantle - Will continue to disappoint. CC's last season as a coach
Collingwood - Have a ******** list
Hawthorn - Very young team, a long road ahead for Hawks fans IMO
Carlton - Have the worst list around IMO. Not much young talent to emerge either. Tough times to continue.

Richmond have a terrible spine and will be Carltons main competitor for the wooden spoon - Simmonds, Richardson, Johnson, Hall, Gaspar -

As or Port, your right, they're on the decline, compared to 2004 but with a nucleus of Tredrea, C Cornes, Lade, S Burg and P Burg they would be very unlucky to drop out of the 8. Actually, I reckon they will finish higher than Geelong, in 6th position.

:thumbsu: I'm not sure what to do guys. I'm going o/s for uni next year, but can either go in the middle of the season, or leave in August. The place that I would be going to in August might be better, but what if we make the grand final?? I couldn't miss it!
Then you would have a great story about the GF, when you had to hunt down sonmewhere to watch, stay up till 4am, and how the locals were reacting to your wild screaming of peoples names at the TV ;)

Where you off to?

True...but nothing like being there!

Denmark (starts in August) or Italy (March-July). Any suggestions? :p

hmmm tough choices - f-f-f-freezing or stinking hot and polluted

or the other way of looking at it - if you want to travel and see stuff italy is the better option with cheaper transport links with the rest of europe, denmark you can get to the scandinavian countires pretty cheaply but flying out - there are no discount airlines that service denmark

bluecrow, I would take Crow-mosone's advice. If you are not used to freezing temperatures in winter (and I suspect you are not) then Italy is the place.

I was born and bred in an area where 20 below zero in winter time is normal occurance. Now when I go back during winter to visit my family, I freeze my arse off. Some countries in europe (and those include Denmark) are freezing during winter time.

Then again, if you want to experience the snow Denmark is the place to go ;)

Heh thanks for the advice everyone! :)

I don't think the cold would bother me too much, it would be worth it if there was snow! Denmark would be amazing but it scares me cos its so much further and I don't know anyone going there, so it would be terrifying to start with, but ok once I met people!

I would be going to Florence in Italy - with a few people i know of, but not friends with (yet).

Eek i have to decide by tonight, applications close tomorrow

mmmm Florence is in the North right. I know someone studying up there. Seems like a nice place (not that I have ever been!!!) I thought that u might be staying somewhere south then Id say NOOOOOO. My mum is from the south and its not as nice as the north. (having said that she is from a very small town in the middle of nowhere surrounded dead smack in a mountain range.) My dad is from the North and it is much prettier. Florence is quiet a historical city and is close by to venice and tuscany etc.

Id go to Italy if it were up to me. Closer to the more frequented European countries (Greece, France, Germany etc.) And being north it may not be as hot??? This is unless you'd like to meet up with Princess Mary in Denmark. I suggest if u can crash at her palace go for it!!! :)

Just out of interest what u studying.

Thanks for the info :) Yeah Florence is in the North, so close to France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria... :thumbsu:

I'm studying commerce/law, but going on this exchange for the law part.

Since it is for studying I suggest you go where u can speak the language!!! Or at least learn it easier :)
