2007
3. Chris Masten - Will be a gun in and under player and one of the midfield leaders
13. Bradley Ebert - same as Masten but even better leadership
20. Tony Notte - Still a few years behind playin consistant AFL footy, still yet to know if he will make it. fingers crossed
22. Scott Selwood - alot like adam, could be our small defender in the future

2008
2. Nicolas Naitinui - will be a star and we will have another freak ruckman.
18. Luke Shuey - in and under player in the mould of Corey
20. Tom Swift - could easily be the best player of the whole crop
36. Ashley Smith - Very fast great kick and will be asume dashign off the half back line
52. Jordan Jones- not to sure about him will have to surpase alot of young talent in Mkenzie, Spanger and Wilkes.

our Future Future Midfield could look something like this

Rucks - Natinui, Masten, Swift
Centre - Smith, Shuey, Ebert

M2M, why do you doubt Notte? Is it his frame size? Just wondering.

Add to that we basically recruited Kennedy as well. A gun KPP we have lacked for years.

Rucks - Natinui, Masten, Swift
Centre - Smith, Shuey, Ebert

That future midfield looks so classy and dynamic with the perfect blend of small, tall, pure pace, hardness, skill and game breaking ability. Add to that the potential of Hurn, who i hope turns into a gun midfielder in the voss/hodge mould (although nothing he has done so far has suggested that imo) and we are set.

Oh lets hope we can draft Kane Lucas next year.

IF you were to make a team out of our whole team list as is and only use the players under 24( thats minimum 4 years to succeed) then this is what it would look like IMO.

FB: Waters, McKenzie, S.Selwood
HB: Schofield, Wilkes, S. Hurn
C: M. Rosa, T. Swift, Houlihan
HF: B. Ebert, Kennedy, Brown
FF: LeCras, T. Notte, McKinley
RR: Naitanui, Masten, Butler
INT: Sullivan, McNamara, Shuey, Davis

EMG: Wilson, A.Smith, McGinnity.

Thats a hell of a side and I left out Priddis as he turns 24 in March next year after the start of the season.:thumbsu:

i think it is, i have seen a few of his games and his hands are great, but he hasnt really bulked up as muich as id hope. but im hoping he will prove me wrong. We also have Kennedy and Brown ahead of him for a KPPforward position imo

I rekon Notte was always going to take a bit longer than other talls. Look at Brown start of last year, he was ready to go after a year, Notte has had a year in our development program and id say our coaches on his recruitment were prepared to give him at least 6 months too a year more then they gave Brown to start looking at senior selection. Notte start of 2010 should be bulked up @ 95ish kilos if he isnt then something has gone wrong.

INT: Sullivan, McNamara, Shuey, Priddis

EMG: Wilson, A.Smith, McGinnity.

Highlighted are the gun players who have shown a bit and could take it to the next level. AND I have not included the newly aquired players as Id rather wait to see them in AFL action, but that is a fantastic forward line, and a very solid back line. The middle is the most up in the air at the moment but if Masten and one of the new aquisitons come on it will be above average.

Very exciting.

where's Mcginnity pick 7 preseason Draft, would of been pick 30 something if cousins could of been delisted before the draft.
Tagger come small forward, good pace should replace tyson in the midfield

I hope that does not mean we are not going to recruit Billy Bell and Charlie Smart, the 2013 and 2014 Brownlow medallist midfielders, who are unhappy at their clubs, and desperately want to join WCE!

without using Rookies and still can't get them all in
think Mcginnity is a better footballer than houlihan

If Swift stayed would he have come on to become a solid player? Did he leave just before he was going to start peaking? Look at how long Masten, Sheppard & Shuey have taken to blossom.

His heart wasn't in it at the end of the day. I also don't blame him for wanting to leave football all together after the shit our ****head supporters gave him.

haha damn, my use of the word Gun seemed a stretch good would of been better.. I had a semi on for McKinley as well which turned out to be very wrong! but I blame him for that more than me... I was correct on the Gun forward line, the solid back line and the middle being up in the air though ;) god.. 6 years on and its still the same position. This must of been before Shuey had played a game because I rated him as soon as he touched the ball in his first WAFL game just way way above that level it wasent funny.
