Cant argue with that :thumbsu::thumbsu:. Along with Rioli are so far the best from 07

Has fair claims to be known as the best player from this draft at this point in time. Probably the only one ahead of Rioli. Guys like Cotchin, Grimes etc may or may not overtake those guys.

Harry Taylor was a mature aged recruit at 21 years of age when he was recruited so he was always going to be ready made.

Re: re do the 2007 draft now that we know what we know

Ready made Taylor still not ahead of Rioli.

Cyril has been averageing 5 clearances a game since he moved into the midfield five weeks ago. Still kicking the goals too.

Rioli was a ready made player in his first season.

So what's your point?

Talls take longer to develop.

Deledio won the rising star award ahead of Franklin...

Taylor would be your best backman by a stretch and a walk up start for Hawthorn.

Would love him at CHB.

Taylor would be a great complement to Bower and Jamison plus our medium and small defenders.

Taylor doesn't have brain farts like Lake.

Re: re do the 2007 draft now that we know what we know

A good final series would see him leap frog a few places. You can tell he has talent and speed to burn, he just has to have an OP and stingray free preseason and a solid 22+ games next year.

Wow, the 2007-08 offseason was a ripper for us in hindsight -

drafted - grant, ward, reid and wood
traded OUT macmahon (for ward)
traded IN hudson
scott welsh for nix in the PSD

Very happy with Special K at #1 thanks. Please continue to argue the rest amongst yourselves.

Re: re do the 2007 draft now that we know what we know

Anyone who suggests Cotchin is anything but two should go look in a mirror and see what someone with absolutely no idea looks like.

I'll look in the mirror, but I would still take Grimes over him

Re: re do the 2007 draft now that we know what we know

Mature age or not I think Taylor is the player to have made the greatest impact for his team from the 2007 draft. Would walk into any defense in the league.

Some of your best work. Made me laugh. :thumbsu:

I think Taylor was a great fit for Geelong. Don't think he was right for any of the bottom rung teams though.

Taylor looks much better because of the team around him.

A good player is a good player. Taylor would be starting CHB for every team in the comp.

McPharlin's last two games opposed to Waite and Franklin were terrific. One of the few KPP with the speed and leap to keep up with these two.

Re: re do the 2007 draft now that we know what we know

I am sure that Frawley could play FB while Taylor played CHB.

He could, or vice versa.
I wouldn't pidgeon hole Chip as a FB when he plays on Milne, LeCras and Franklin and if it was a choice between the 2, it'd be Frawley every time.

McPharlin is good though. I think I'd rate home better than Taylor.
Taylor has the benefit of playing in the cats' defence, and while he is good, he is often overrated.

Wasting time.

Enforcer would never have a non-melbourne player ahead of a Melbourne player.

You're a clown.

Taylor is better than, say, Garland.
But if you think he's better than Frawley you're an idiot.

Re: re do the 2007 draft now that we know what we know

3: Dangerfield
13: Taylor
18: Ottens
20: Pears

Would have been much better in hindsight.

That's nice.
Would still make way for Taylor if it came down to it.
