Collingwood so high and Adelaide so low?... The crows were impressive over in Dubai, given it was their first hit out their run was exceptional and their game plan was basic but very very effective, almost similar to Geelongs of handball until clear and then kick long. The only thing that let them down was skills and the notion that Goodwin kicked 4 goals... they need a solid forward or two and I think Sellar will step up and be that man...

Collingwood are on a serious decline. Excuse the Dubai game but the last couple of years they have been playing well above themselves and this year without the leadership of guys such as Clement, Buckley and Licuria it will seriously hurt them. And before you arc up I know they didnt play much last year collectively however it was always in the mid of the players that they were "to come back" on in liccas case "could come into the side" to relieve some of the younger guys... this year that mentality wont be there and there will a imense pressure on the young pies and I dont think they will stand up... not for 22 rounds anyway.

I wouldn't read to much into a NAB cup game.. especially one which was about on par with our practice match against Freo for intensity and care factor. Collingwood are a strong flag chance this year.

I wasnt reading much into it... I just suggested that the game plan implimented by the crows looked good, particularly the running game. Collingwood are not a strong chance for the flag, the serious lack the experienced personel... The forward line and backline is the shambles at the moment. The rely on young (less than 50 gamers) to play out of their skin which will have some serious effect in the later stages of the year.

It was hard to split the last two.

Whatever you want to believe mate but their forwardline is no different then the forward line they had last year, in fact it may even be better with Rusling getting more and more games, and in my opinion the Collingwood defense held up pretty well last year without Clement who missed more games than he played. Buckley and Licuria barely played a game last year either. So that said, and considering they were around 5 points away from a flag last year, how anyone can say that Collingwood aren't a strong chance for the flag is beyond my comprehension. I hate the buggers but I'm realistic enough to see that Collingwood have put a pretty good team together.

Surprised I have WC so low - but starting the season without their best 3 midfielders of recent years will have an impact. Still, can see them finishing as high as 6th.

Collingwood has played above themselves ( is there really such a thing over time ) for most of the time Maulthouse has been there according to opposition supporters.
There comes a time when you have to just give Mick credit for the getting the very most of his cattle.
