For SC in 2010, which youngster would you pick up? and why?

I would choose mature body players that will be definite starters for rds 1. 2. 3 or 4.
Dustin Martin - Mid
Anthony Morabito - Mid
Koby Stevens - Mid
Kane Lucas -Mid/Fwd
Jack Trengove - Mid/Fwd

Scully and Trengove are the obvious ones, you have to have them. After that then you need to pick players that will have a chance at getting a game so really need to wait until the draft.

Tapscott and Trengove are the obvious two, prossibly Lucas and possibly Jetta. I'd be more inclined to stock up with 2008 draftees that have not played- Sam Blease and Tom Swift come to mind straight away as well as Hurley.

Pretty sure I saw Swift and Hurley play last year.

Yep but not much. At least you know what you will get from those two. Swift could well become a bench premium and would not cost more than Tom Scully would. Hurley the same and could play forward or back. If he plays back in the pre season jump on him. Point I was making is there is only 2-3 from 2009 that I'd want in my side. Tapscott and Trengove are the obvious two with Lucas/Morabito two I'd keep my eye on in pre season.

Your right off the mark here sorry to say. Swift will be far too expensive to be a bench option. Picking him would require you to expect a points increase and value increase in order to upgrade to an underpriced premium. As for Hurley his later season games bumped his average too high to be an option for 2010 imo.

Swift will be priced just over $300k
Hurley over 400k

Plenty of Fwd/Mid options in Trengove, Cunnington (should be a fwd/mid) and Lucas.

Bench premium?? Wtf is that? He is approx. 314k.

Why wont Scully be starting in round 1? Injury?

Melbourne won't rush him, as simple as that. Similarly with Cotchin, unlike Trengove, he may not have the body yet. I would not be getting Scully early.

Sam Blease.

I would wait before making any decisions on Blease as he broke his leg pretty badly at school early in the year and may be eased slowly into the Melbourne side in 2010 and i cant see him playing more than 12 or so games next year.

The boy has talent and lets hope he recovers fully.

I will wait for pre season form for Blease. Although one thing, it will be easier for Blease to come into the Melbourne side. I can see him playing 15+ games. That is enough to upgrade to a mid range solid player.

Exactly, atleast someone knows what they're talking bout.

BENCH PREMIUM:confused: Thats the most idiotic thing I have ever heard in my life. But Bombers no.1 that comes pretty close.. lol

Good luck next year, sounds like you need it.

Your post is pretty idiotic if you ask me:
(1) It doesn't make sense, his post is "the most idiotic thing", yet it "comes pretty close", paradox eh?
(2) Not everyone is or can be a 'master' at SC like you (). Believe it or not some people are new to the game and are still very much in the learning stage. You should be tolerant of them as you were probably in the same position as him once, personally there is nothing I hate more then when I'm playing a new game and some smart *** sticks the boots in to me just because I'm not as good as them.

My apologies if I insulted you Bombersno.1 it was just friendly fire, being new to SC. last yr was my first time and I didn't really appreciate the same treatment, but learnt alot from it.

Its just Bombers are my least favourite team as I am a Carlton supporter and my Girlfriend is a Bombers supporter, so I spend alot of time slaggin off the bombers.

Some advice from my limited experience Bomber don't have anything over 200k on your bench to start out with, it can be better used elsewhere on your team.

Spartan
1) I don't see my self as good or a 'master', I am still in the learning phase too.
2) If something is the most, something else can come close to it. Paradox, no.
3) Chill out.

I know the BF SC board can be pretty hostile at times but just because you experienced similar treatment when you first started off doesn't mean you should lower yourself to that level. At the end of the day it just makes the problem even worse as other people will start joining in as well.I probably hate the bombers just as much as you do, but it doesn't mean every bombers fans should cop it, some of them are probably decent posters and in the end it wasn't bombersno1 who snipered Brad Sewell. Its good to hear you sort of understand were I'm coming from, cheers mate.

Cheers, The 30 Spartans.

Refer to point 3 of my post CHILL OUT.. Take a couple of seconds to get your nickers out of the knot, stop having a go at everyone cos you were picked on as a kid and realise your sitting at a computer in a chat forum site and not going to battle with 29 other SPARTANS. REMEMBER THIS IS ALL IN FUN.

This is the exact reason why most BF posters avoid the SC board and go to the DT board instead, despite SC being clearly the most popular AFL fantasy game.

Don't say I didn't try to help the cause. :o

Back on topic, I think I'll look at Cunnington, Martin, Trengove and maybe Lucas or Rohan.

Anyone know if Matt Maguire has scored OK in SC in the past? I know his DT average was about 40 but the info's not on Fanfooty at the moment. I'm not planning to pick him, but I'm curious.

Liam Patrick might be worth considering if he's rookie-listed.

His average was in the 70's in 05/06 but down to 45 in 07 and 30 in 08. Could be ok for a bench spot at $94k if he gets games.
