Voting is now over, starters to be announced on January 27th.

Looks like the starting lineups for each team will be:

East
C: Howard
F: Stoudemire
F: LeBron
G: Wade
G: Rose

West
C: Yao (injured)
F: Durant
F: Anthony
G: Kobe
G: Paul

Who does everyone think should be the backups?

East Reserves
C: Horford
F: Garnett
F: Pierce
G: Felton
G: Rondo
Wildcard: Bosh
Wildcard: Bogut? (could be anyone, I'm just hoping it's Bogut :p)

West Reserves
C: Gasol (replacement starter for Yao)
F: Love
F: Nowitzki
G: Westbrook
G: Williams
Wildcard: Griffin
Wildcard: Ginobili
Replacement (for Yao): Aldridge

When is the game and is it on ESPN?

My big roughie is Emeka Okafor as backup centre in West. Deserves it more than Aldridge. And can Gasol play centre.... I dont believe he was named in the centres catogory... Bynum will start at centre with either Okafor or Nene as back up.

West
C: Yao (injured) replaced by Bynum.
F: Durant
F: Anthony
G: Kobe
G: Paul

East
C: Howard
F: Stoudemire
F: LeBron
G: Wade
G: Rose

West Reserves
C: Okafor
F: Love
F: Griffin
G: Ginobli
G: Williams
Wildcard: Gasol
Wildcard: Westbrook

East Reserves
C: Lopez
F: Garnett
F: Iguodala
G: Harris
G: Rondo
Wildcard: Boozer
Wildcard: Bogut

You don't have to be named at a certain position on the ballot to be named there by the coaches. Gasol can be named as a C by the coaches if they choose to. I think if any legitimate C is selected it'll be Chandler or Nene, but neither should be.

My choices (probably not how it'll go, with fan voting, etc.):

Eastern Conference
C - Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic)
F - Amar'e Stoudemire (New York Knicks)
F - LeBron James (Miami Heat)
G - Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat)
G - Derrick Rose (Chicago Bulls)
---------------------
C - Al Horford (Atlanta Hawks)
F - Carlos Boozer (Chicago Bulls)
F - Paul Pierce (Boston Celtics)
G - Joe Johnson (Atlanta Hawks) / Ray Allen (Boston Celtics)
G - Rajon Rondo (Boston Celtics)
Wildcard - Kevin Garnett (Boston Celtics)
Wildcard - Devin Harris (New Jersey Nets)

Western Conference
C - Nenê (Denver Nuggets)
F - Kevin Love (Minnesota Timberwolves)
F - Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder)
G - Kobe Bryant (Los Angeles Lakers)
G - Chris Paul (New Orleans Hornets)
---------------------
C - Emeka Okafor (New Orleans Hornets)
F - Dirk Nowitzki (Dallas Mavericks)
F - Carmelo Anthony (Denver Nuggets)
G - Kevin Martin (Houston Rockets) / Manu Ginobili (San Antonio Spurs)
G - Russell Westbrook (Oklahoma City Thunder)
Wildcard - Pau Gasol (Los Angeles Lakers)
Wildcard - Steve Nash (Phoenix Suns)

If the talk is true about rose. LBJ and Dwade are in for interesting week. Message to the east

ITS ROSE'S Team

Backstage intrigue: As the story goes, Rose took it personally when Wade didn't return two of his phone calls during the two weeks leading up to The Decision, then immediately shifted into "I'll show those guys a decision!" mode and devoted the rest of his summer to destroying both of them. Even if this sounds like the makings of an Us Weekly cover -- "ROSE TO WADE: YOU'RE A SELFISH BITCH!" -- there were enough rumblings within NBA circles that I believe this one. So yeah, throwing Rose on the same team with LeBryane could be interesting -- maybe not as rocky as Isiah allegedly freezing out MJ in 1985, but still pretty interesting.

Epic LULZ @ bolded.

On what planet is this argument being backed up? Aldridge scores nearly double the amount of points and has carried the most injury hit team in the league to a record over .500. Meanwhile Okafor rolls around waiting for Chris Paul to set him up for an easy dunk.

This is an All Star game. Not an All Role Player game.

That article is definitely rubbish.

Oh my that East team is ridiculous. IMO the best C in the west has been Nene. Gasol has played C but he isn't one, and I don't think he's been that great this season anyway. Hopefully they can get Aldridge in there before Gasol.

Why is the idea of Boozer being an All Star wildcard so funny??

He's averaging 20 and 10 on a team with a great record with a field goal of 550. His numbers are about a point and a rebound off 07 and 08 when he was an All Star, per minute they're slightly better than those seasons. I know he's missed a lot of games but he wouldn't be the first All Star to miss a few games and still get a gig

Don't get me wrong I don't think he should be picked, but the idea is hardly laughable. If a couple of players are unavailable he'd have to be considered, he'd have to be very close

I hope like hell that its gonna be a better weekend than last year....

Geez it was a snoozefest last year, particularly All-Star Saturday.

I assume the laughable part that Look2Me4Guidance is pointing out is not that you've selected Boozer, but that you've selected Brook Lopez, Andre Iguodala and Devin Harris "ahead" of him on your list, and are omitting more deserving players by including Lopez and Iguodala (Harris gets in as a wildcard IMO).

If he was getting voted in the by the fans, it'd fly, but coaches aren't going to vote in a guy who has missed approx 50% of the season thus far. That was my main point.

Okafor's defense embarrasses LaMarcus imo, that's where Okafor gains on lamarcus, but I'd still have Aldridge in if I had to pick between the two.

But if I didn't I'd pick neither.

Not that I bother with the all-star game. Waste of my time.
