Federer's movement is clearly his biggest weakness these days; he's just a bit sluggish from the baseline. Look at the last few guys to beat him in the Slams, Del Potro, Soderling, Berdych, Djokovic, and obviously Rafa. These guys are all big hitters and his movement is being exposed. With all his great strenghts, I think his movement has been his biggest, and now that he's nearing 30 and finding himself up against the bigger hitters more often, he's starting to struggle.

Wasnt the Gooch part of the top 200 previously. I would beat on Molik to beat him any day.

But seriously, around the 500 would be an interesting match. There is no doubt the women game has improved power wise since those games, so they would be able to cope with a lesser mans power game easier.

The mens final was like the mens tournament, disappointing. The womens side had a lot more interesting games this year. The 4hrs 44min game being a highlight.

And the Fed debate, i personally couldnt give a stuff. Rod Laver is GOAT, and having the SAME conversation after every GS is boring.

Anyone with a big weapon can hurt Federer.Nadal with his forehand and topspin, Nole with his defense and backhand down the line, Delpo with his power and Murray with his backhand did hurt Federer.During 2004-07, we barely had anyone with a weapon.Yes Safin had big weapons but he is a mental midget. Roddick was up there for a while, but apart from his serve he is a pusher.Federer is one of the better returners of big serves.Other than these 2 there was Hewitt, who had no big weapons to hurt Federer and Agassi was 35!There was no one who could overpower Federer.Berdych, Nadal, Nole,Delpo are all big hitters with loads of firepower. So obviously federer is getting shownup in this era. Make no mistake, federer played very good tennis in the semi finals and got owned in straight sets.

Not against anyone in the top 100. You'd be surprised at the difference in standard between men's and women's tennis.

Serena is a better player than half the players outside the top 150 ish, she would beat them. Her serve unlike most women won't be exposed.

Serena Williams would not beat any man ranked just outside the top 150. That's a ****ing joke. Tomic, for example, is ranked outside that and would make her look absolutely silly.

I remember last year McEnroe said 600th would be the rank where the top seeded woman starts troubling a man. Andy Murray said 1000th in the same interview. That's the sort of numbers we're talking about.

Did you even watch the match? Because I doubt anyone that watched it would even think about saying something like that. He shanked almost every backhand he attempted FFS. Watch the final in London against Nadal or the Australian Open final against Murray if you want to see very good tennis from Federer in recent times.

To compare mens and womens tennis, just as in most sports, is pointless. Women can not compete with men as they have much less explosive power, especially in movement and agility. While a man and woman can be equally skilled in technique, they will not be equal in explosive movements.

You will never accept Federer ever lost fair and square  Prior to 2004 he was too young and after 2007 he had mono and then he was too old  .Roger federer never lost a match in his life fair and square according to TIRO folks :thumbsu:

. Big disappointment. Thoughts on the game? What went wrong?

ROGER FEDERER: I thought he played a great match. I didn't think I played bad myself, so it was a match played at a very high intensity for a long period of time.

Clearly it's disappointing to lose, but what to do if he plays well on the big points, and potentially maybe I didn't. It was a tough match.

Q. Physically how much did the match take out of you? Did you feel at any point you were getting weary, that he was wearing you down?

ROGER FEDERER: No, not really. I'm feeling really good considering how intense it was. It was a three hour match over three sets and, you know, I don't take much time in between points. It's maybe even a longer match if you like.

No, I felt good. It was intense. We had long, tough rallies and played at a very high speed and everything. So sure, you feel it a little bit, but obviously I was ready for another two sets easily. Pity that I couldn't push him there.

Finally, the voice of reason in such a stupid debate. Of course men's tennis is going to be better, they are phsyically stronger than women. Its not our fault, its just the way it bloody well is, you appreciate for what it is or you just shut up. I'm no feminist either, but I'm seriously getting tired of this. Its such a ****ing dumb argument.
