Re: Round 8 Captain

Sam Mitchell, with Hodge injured sam plays extra time in the middle and given the saints bottling style of play extra clearances will be available (hence my "current" desire to have Mitchell)

Re: Round 8 Captain

Brent Harvey vs Melbourne is my risky tip.

Better pull out a 120 odd.

Take out his 64 vs West Coast and his average goes from 106 to 114.4

Two scores above 120 (win vs Port, narrow loss vs Richmond) and would expect North at the very least to get close to an injury riddled Melbourne. Also got 116 vs Freo so high enough scores to be a captain option imo.

Last 6 vs Melbourne: 143, 136, 54, 78, 41, 125.

Inconsistent, but hoping he pulls out a 2008 score!!!

Re: Round 8 Captain

I went with Jack Riewoldt.

Has kicked 26 goals in his last five games at Etihad.

He is playing against a team that's missing their full back + his first choice replacement.

He could well and truly kick between 4-8 goals on the weekend if all goes well. :)

Re: Round 8 Captain

Especially considering Richmonds games in the last few weeks..
Rich vs North was 110-100 odd
Rich vs Bris was 120-90 odd
Rich vs Freo was 130-98 odd

Very high scoring, free flowing games. Jack has been amongst the goals but people like Martin, Nahas, Cotchin and King have also been amongst it. This won't keep up forever as history shows it's only the best teams that have multiple players over 30 goals by years end, so Jack should have a day out soon.

edit: the multiple goals statement is used loosely, could word it better but takes to much time

It was actually 150-98 odd, hahah.:thumbsu:

But yeah, hoping he can go well, putting forwards as captain is always a risk, but with Geelong playing Collingwood, you would assume both teams would cancel out each others dominance and Swan, Chappy, Selwood, Johnson and Shaw (all in my team) would roughly score 100 each and nothing more than 120.

Re: Round 8 Captain

Each time Collingwood have played decent opposition this season, Swan has barely managed to crack the ton

I will probably go Mundy

Re: Round 8 Captain

Not certain Swan will crank out a big 130+. As people said, Swan, Pendles, Selwood, Bartel, Chappy.... Too many guns in a big game will probably equal 100-110's!

I think I'm gonna go with Mundy! 2nd highest ave in the comp, can't believe he's not even one of the poll options!? Very confident he'll score 120+!

Also think Boyd could be an option!

Re: Round 8 Captain

Im going goodes, this game wont be a slog in the wet like the carlton game can see him kicking a lazy 6 on sat nite..

Re: Round 8 Captain

Sandilands monstered Cox in a pre-season game, and back-up Kepler Bradley is in some doubt with injury. Cox and Sandi play wide of each other anyway, and I think there will be plenty of stoppages. I think 120 is on the cards for Sandilands.

Re: Round 8 Captain

I'm putting Scott Thompson captain against Gold Coast. Adelaide will be out to atone for their sins last week and im not sure Gold Coast can back up after a win.

Is he even 100% playing? Was iced up in the 4th quarter last week?

Re: Round 8 Captain

Taking Sandi this week.
Just a thought: With the huge majority of teams having Swan in their team AND making him captain I reckon the VC should get 1.5 X points. Just to spice it up a bit.
Floated this idea on TS last year and got a bit of support....thoughts?

For those who don't like decimal points the total score could be rounded down to the nearest whole number.

Re: Round 8 Captain

Wouldn't go Sandi or Cox against one another. Bartel is lethal in the wet, Swan will always score 100+, just a matter of whether that's enough for you or not.
