You've got your wires crossed here. The match that Snoop watched was the NEAFL northern conference grand final between NT Thunder and Morningside. Which the Thunder won by 98 points last Saturday. So he was indeed correct about the margin being much larger than 15 points.

Whereas the game your referring to was the NEAFL grand final between the northern conference champion (NT Thunder) and the eastern conference champion (Ainslie)! Think of the NEAFL grand final between the the two conference champions as the superbowl of aussie rules footy lol.

Instead of drafting a ruckman, collingwood should have a serious crack at getting Zac Clarke from freo to the club. With Mitch Clark requesting a trade to the west from brisbane, and most likley playing as a CHF and pinch hit ruckman at the dockers leaving Zac in a potentially unlucky position. He is a victorian and has a playing style that is not dissimilar to that of Nic Nat and would be a pretty good, athletic, contrasting back up for jolly in his final years... Thoughts?

It was mentioned before but Mitch Clark does not want to play as a ruckman and has stated a few times his preferred position is as CHF, which is why he hasn't played the position much in recent times. All 3 of Clark, Clarke and Sandilands can play in the same team. Clark is more likely to take up the position of players like Bradley and Mayne.

I would be very happy with any of those three talls at #25 but if we were looking for more a fwd then back then would favour Tomlinson and Paine. Frost I think will end up more back than fwd. Wouldnt discount a couple of talls from interstate that have been on a few clubs radars from what I hear. Personally am a bit of a fan of some other young talls expected to go later. Knighta and I share a keenness for the development prospects of the boy Brown and wouldnt be averse to Collignwood trying to prelist him with a 2nd rounder albeit I worry about his body and how guys like Griffiths and Mitchell who have had similar issues at that age just havent been able to get on the park.

Who are the key position players to look at this year Snoop?

Are there any mature age Key Forwards worth rookie listing?

I guess you would struggle to find someone of J-Pods potential but maybe someone like an Edwards for depth?

I really like Paine to be honest. He has a strong body, he uses it well and he protects the drop of the ball which are characteristics that the best fwds like Dunstall, Sticks, Carey, Cloke, Brown etc all have. I think even heard Goodes talking about it last night in relation to Cloke. Its just that ability to use the body and protect the drop. So i tend to rate guys like Paine high bc of that whereas guys like Brown not so much bc I havent yet really seen him do that. I think his good but not 1st round good. I also like Sam Gordon for these reasons but think he will drop bc he has had a few inj issues and whilst he was good at Champs and towards seasons end it might just cause him to slip.

Tomlinson is the same as Paine but he has acceleration across that first 20m that few in this draft have. He also is very flexible around fwd or back. Tomlinson shares more Pods qualities though. Quick on the lead, terrific hands and if he is in front you are stuffed. I'd also be happy with him but slight preference for Paine.

In terms of mature age players there arent many KPF going around. beau Wilkes will probably get taken by GWS but I dont think he would fit in our 22 and Sean Tighe i think is developing at a rapid rate as well but again he wouldnt walk into the 22. Sinclair has been invited to DC and has his fans but not sure he has been better this year than last - this year is weaker though I guess. I am not the Shenton fan a few are and think his game on the weekend showcased a few issues. There are a couple of small / medium fwd types I quite like (eg Broadhurst who fits your Edwards DNA) but suspect they may be more rookie types but have loads of x factor and I would take a punt on them for sure.

In terms of mature age key position backs there are a heap of them.

Paine is clearly the best of these prospects given these clips. His ability to take a contested mark on the lead and chase hard for diving tackles makes him a clear stand out in my opinion. A VERY exciting prospect for whoever lands him.

If we decide the young guys aren't up to it and Jolly Wood combo isn't working and we want more versatility we would at least have an option. Ditto if Cloke or Dawes goes down. We could also pick up a promising key forward early in the draft as a longer term option if we see someone we are happy with. Otherwise hold off until next year. As long as we have some cover at Key Forward for next year. I wouldn't be against rookie listing Sinclair at all as a mature age rookie as it would cost **** all and give us insurance in some key areas of the ground.

Yeah I would not be against Rooking Sinclair.

Saw him play for Port and play for Collingwood VFL Team in some Pre-Season Games a few Pre-Seasons ago

Like the look of Paine! What stood out most to me was his tackling pressure and his marking ability, however I would never be one to judge a bloke based on a 2 min video clip.

Having had a little bit more of a think about it my hopes are that we go with just the two live picks this year (the rest would be on Witts and Bolton if it were up to me). I'd use one pick on a KPF for depth and the other on another solidly built midfielder. The KPF for depth is fairly obvious, but the reason I'd go with the solidly built midfielder is they're the blokes that win you finals.

If you look at the 2 prelims on the weekend the best midfielders in no particular order were Swan, Lewis, Mitchell, Ball, Kelly, Selwood, Chapman, Pendles and Kerr. The ones with the bigger hardened bodies are the ones you can rely on when the whips are cracking come September. Rather than your smaller types such as Shiels, Beams, Smith, Sidebottom, Masten and Gaff.

Its the main reason why the transition has been so easy for Fasolo. He just has a body that's ready to go which will hold him in good stead for finals!

I have felt for much of the year, and still feel that Jackson Paine is going to go in the Top 15 - He's not going to be there at our first round pick, unless we make some strangely unexpected trade.

yeah i must admit I havent thought as VV obviously has that he has been 15 all year but is certainly heading that way. I had him around our first pick but when I had a look at the top 30 or so last night for what its worth i think he is probably heading into 13-20.

Collingwood could certainly trade for either BRown or Sinclair with GWS

Profile: Really impressive when he got injected into the champs. Wasn’t part of the original Vic Country side. Back flanker who provides serious dash from defence and looks like a real weapon in the making with that explosive speed of his. Kicking is exceptional and under pressure looks very composed which is a great sign. Man on man is solid and is an absolute rebounding machine from defence.

This is from Knights Mock Draft and Well I would not be my 1st Choice - I wouldn't complain if we Picked him as he has very Good Speed and Uses the ball well

Summary: I wanted to bolster up there ruck stocks and did that. They have a good list Collingwood and it’s hard to identify the exact needs. They do need a tall forward though and the father son selection will be a good get late in the draft. I suspect they will go for a medium x factor type forward, running defender and maybe another tall forward.

I doubt Kersten and Duboscz most likely be gone by Pick 50.
