2011 Draw

Good draw.

The key is to make the most of our easier start.

If we can get to the top of the table, then we'll have momentum. This will be important because we have a tougher run home.

The only concern is that we are typically average starters, so if we come out a bit flat and drop a few games, then we have to beat better teams and interstate teams to cement the top 2 spot.

I like the draw.

Sunday games are a bit unusual, C7 probably demanded more Collingwood games.

We need to make the most of the start, and hopefully have top 2 sewn up by the end of the season so we can play out a few dead rubbers.

Go Pies 2011!

I am not fussed at all about our run home, we beat the dogs cats and saints in a row in the finals so, I think we should be right with our run home. We have to go up 7-0 or 6-0, easiest start to the season ever.

Stuff that Matty we'll just go without a loss all year :D

That first 5 or 6 games is a p1ss easy draw. Can't wait to unfurl the flag against Carlton. hahahahahaha so funny suck on that Carlton look what we have that you don't. Love it do you think Eddie wanted this to happen :D

If we don't finish top next year with the draw we have, then we shouldn't be playing. Only playing Carlton, Geelong and St Kilda from this years finalists twice (yes I know the 8 never stays the same), and travel interstate 4 times (all be it in the last half of the year).

Really it wouldn't have mattered who they gave us, but this is an easy fixture we have. Oppositions will complain about it but **** them. :D

Breakdown of TV networks and how many games they are showing of each club.

Pies;

Seven = 8 (7 delayed, 1 Live)
TEN = 8 (5 delayed, 3 live)
Fox = 5 (ALL LIVE)
TBC = 1 (round 24 floater, will be a free to air game).

Balls. Luckily i'll just tune into another ch7 or ch10 to watch it live via satellite.
Altho i can only get the ch7 and ch10 channels from brisbane and sydney... so sometimes they delay the game further! But still, it'll be ok sometimes.

Carlton and North supporters will be on to this complaining about the draw! Stating that Collingwood aren't playing anyone that finished above them!!! :D

FREMANTLE
"In addition to seeing Fremantle take on Carlton, Essendon and Hawthorn at home, our members will have the opportunity to see the club up against the reigning premier Collingwood, the 2009-2010 grand finalists St Kilda and the 2009 premiers Geelong. chief executive Steve Rosich

GEELONG
"The club understands the difficult position the AFL has with the sheer volume of requests it receives, however, on our list of requests, our highest priority was for 11 home games to be broken down to a minimum of eight at Skilled Stadium and the balance at the MCG against Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, St Kilda or Hawthorn. acting chief executive Rob Threlfall

HAWTHORN

"There are some exciting games for Hawks supporters in 2011 with 11 games at the MCG, including a blockbuster home match against Geelong, and home games against St Kilda, Melbourne, Essendon and Western Bulldogs. We also look forward to taking on the reigning premiers, Collingwood, at the MCG in round 15. chief executive Stuart Fox

NORTH MELBOURNE
"Playing Collingwood in our first home game of the year is a fantastic result and is a strong incentive for our members to join up early and see us take on the reigning premiers.- chief executive Eugene Arocca

PORT ADELAIDE
"Overall, we have a good mixture of Saturday and Sunday games, with at least five of our home games at AAMI to be under lights, including against the Crows, Hawthorn, Carlton and Collingwood." - chief executive Mark Haysman

I think our draw is reasonable, certainly better than 2010.

Been over to a few other boards, Carlton, Dees, Swans, Dogs and Essendon very happy with their draws, Cats unhappy and Saints have a tougher draw than this year (though that wouldn't be hard)

Is it just me, or is one word repeated in each of those quotes from the clubs;

COLLINGWOOD.

And they wonder why we get the draw we do.:p;)

No Matty, the bit I like is bold and underlined..ie REIGNING PREMIERS has a nice sounding :thumbsu: :D

Yep, they want to play us twice as much now.:D:eek:

And yes, I will never get sick of those words "Reigning Premiers Collingwood".

We don't play a side we lost to last year since round 15 (Hawthorn).

12-0 leading into the Hawthorn game?:p

I'm pretty happy with the draw.

Smash the Hawks, for the STFU factor it has on their fans.

Lucky we only get Melbourne once.:D
