Re: Injury list-updated

Rumours of Chappy having a calf strain are going around. Any truth behind them?

Just seen the same thing in Fantasy Freko's weekly email. I guess now we know why he hasn't played at all this preseason.

I wonder how serious the injury is

Re: Injury list-updated

Varcoe, Chapman and Corey should be right to go then.

To be fair, Varcoe is probably no longer actually injured (his Operation was almost 4 months ago) they've just decided there's no way he'll be risked for NAB Cup practice matches.

But yeah, I take your broader point, our injury lists are never completely honest and should not be relied upon.

I think there is preseason injured and regular season injured. I wouldn't mind betting if it was regular season Varcoe, Corey & Chapman would play. Also Mooney is notorious for hating preseason matches.

That's all very nice for him, but personally I'm notorious for having little time for players who think they can pick and choose when they play. Especially when their form at the business end of last season was anything but stellar.

Agree.

Although Mooney admitted last week he'd been injured for a while and is behind schedule, so I don't think he's choosing to sit them out. Personally I have my concerns about him getting on the park much this year.

Mooney or Ottens will retire before the seeason is finished.

How bad is Drum? Did he have surgery? I can't even remember what he looks like.

Drum is a few weeks off yet. Yes, he had surgery on his ankle as it played up not too long ago. Not sure if it was at all linked to his Achilles injury but doesn't seem to be too debilitating. I guess it's better to address these things early. From what I've heard he us loving life at the moment and is chomping at the bit to get on the park. Then again, wouldn't any player be?

I'm the same but just putting it out there. It's apparently been a factor in the past.

I saw him on Saturday, was moving fine. Hopefully he'll be able to put down some good VFL form and eventually get in the senior side.

Balme said (if he is to be believed) all of the 1-2 weekers (him, Motlop, Smedts, Stringer) are in training and will soon return in the VFL.

If you read the story in the yearbook he actually tore the ligament off the bone and chipped the bone, so it was more serious than we thought at the time. Hopefully the kid can get some luck.

Have seen him with the players and he seems to be in good spirits so that's a good sign.
