Re: Rd 10 trades?

Lynch is an 18 year old KPF.
Surely can not keep up those kind of scores. I'm thinking he will be inconsistent and probably end up in and out of the side.
BUT.... I have not seen gold coast's last 2 games so i haven't actually seen him kick a footy. I normally never trade-in a player unless I have actually seen him play.
I'm torn. Someone convince me either way.

He's obviously raw, but he's shown some good signs and he's taking contested marks. He's showing signs he's going to be a gun, but obviously consistency is an issue.

I'm trading him in because he should keep getting games and getting 75+ scores but if he doesn't score the way he has been over the past two weeks I think it's understandable.

Re: Rd 10 trades?

l'd prob go mzungu over lynch he would get more games and is mature age his body should hold up.l would't mind getting him but have 4 purple hoods in my team is 5 freo hoods to many?in mundy, sandi, lower, broughton.

Re: Rd 10 trades?

Andrew Swallow's another unique that I reckon most people should look at if they're upgrading their midfield. Averaging 103 and he's probably bottomed out at $431k. Nice upgrade from his younger brother, Harris, Conca etc. without spending much cash, and he's only in 4.66% of teams.

Yeah, I've had Swallow since day 1. Rounds 6-8 were well below average for him (85,65,88) and yet he is still over 100 on overall average. I hope his worst is behind him though.

Re: Rd 10 trades?

What is with the Ablett obsession? He has had what, 1 good game?

No more byes, which gives you a 100+ point advantage over any other premium midfielder you can name.

Tapscott > Lynch/Mzungu (was also hoping to get Mzungu into my midfield...this will be a tough decision)
Krakouer > Ablett

Re: Rd 10 trades?

Higgins to Franklin
Tapscott to N Roo

pissed off with higgins, his price will crash in the next few

Re: Rd 10 trades?

Except you would expect to have coverage for a bye. Perhaps a rookie averaging 70 or 80. So the 100 point advantage is more like 30.

And could also potentially be the sub. And could also be robbing you of your one reliable midfield emergency player. There's always speculation involved. But I'm feeling a lot more comfortable locking Ablett (at his current price) into my midfield than any of the other options.

Re: Rd 10 trades?

tapscott>i.smith or someone else
harris or libba>ablett

I really really want ablett and one of those has to go:(

I like libba but really he will only go up about another 30 or 40k anyway right?

Re: Rd 10 trades?

Anyone got any suggestions for rookie fwd downgrade targets other than Mzungu, Lynch and Smith?

Re: Rd 10 trades?

The full list of options that I see:
- Retzlaff - the 16 holding down his average will be gone in a couple of weeks and he's holding his position with Brown back.
- Bruest, though he's been the sub so has had very subdued scoring.
- Siposs, Patrick and Harper are all cheaper than Lynch despite playing three or four games each as well. Probably less scoring potential but you know they've got a pretty safe spot at the moment if they've strung that many together.
- Callinan if you're aiming longer term.

Re: Rd 10 trades?

Thanks for that, great stuff.

My original plan this week was to go Darling - Lynch and Kraks to Ablett, but the Tapscott injury means he needs to be traded and that won’t give me enough cash for Ablett. So at the moment I’m thinking my options are...

Trade Tapscott to a cheaper rookie, miss out on lynch and still get Ablett.

or

Trade Tapscott to Lynch and get Scott Thompson (who is looking very good at his current price) and get Ablett later.

Any thoughts?

Re: Rd 10 trades?

Will wait another week on Fletcher, given the bye. Still a small chance I can offload him for Chris Newman. Not sure about Stefan Martin's JS once Jamar returns.

Atley for.........probably B. Jacobs, Armitage for Ablett.

Re: Rd 10 trades?

Because of my trades last week, I finally get to upgrade some cash cows.

So I can upgrade Curnow and Conca.

Basically, I'm looking at 4 players, I'm leaning towards Mundy/Pendlebury... but:

Swan
Pendlebury
Mundy
Ablett

Mundy seems to be the most consistent, so I'm pretty sure I'll go for him. I'd also lean towards Pendlebury over Swan as Swan has looked a bit out of sorts lately. Ablett used to be my first picked every year - but he seems too inconsistent at this stage.

What do.

Ablett is getting fitter every week though. I think you can put his inconsistency down to an interupted preseason more than anything else. Hodge the same. They are both a lot cheaper than they shuold be.

Re: Round 10 trades

Considering picking up LeCras as a cheap keeper. Any thoughts?

Re: Round 10 trades

Current thinking is:

Tapscott (injured) down to Lynch
Higgins (terrible) up to GAJ

GC are done with the byes and Ablett looks like he's pretty fit and frisky.
Lynch may not (will not) maintain his current form, but I don't ever plan on moving him off the bench, either, so as long as he plays the rest of the year and can cover an emergency slot if needs be, that'll play.
Higgo sucks me in every single year. I could hang onto him and go for the ride, but can you trust him? Ever? Maybe I just ditch him. Helps out the bank balance, too.
Tapscott... job done.

Might look at double-downgrade next week, then Newman, Boyd, Swan and Sylvia to finish the squad. Can do it and have 7 trades left.

Would dearly love to have 6 trades going into finals and it *might* still be possible.

Re: Round 10 trades

what are people's thoughts on Priddis??

seems to be scoring consistently

His last 2 scores have been nice in improved side. Will have you pulling your hair out before you know it. Tread with caution IMO.

yeah, he seems that type of player... just trying to work out who could be good as a 6/7 forward and I heard he is playing through the midfield a fair bit at the moment.

Very much so in the radar. Ultra consistent thus far. Going good in a side on the up, real test this week with BE around same as avg. I will be keeping a sharp eye on him as a M4-M6 type pick over next few weeks.
