My ideal pick would definitely be Ollie Wines if he was around at pick nine.

Nope. Just lacks consistency as far as I'm aware.Simpson is an interesting one. Oodles of ability. Has he had any publicized attitude issues that you know of?

Wouldn't surprise if Garlett was still there anyway though I could see GWS taking him at 9 if we did the trade. We need GWS to trade for some older players so they run out of list spots.

Would love if everyone overlooked him at we jagged him at 29.I love Hrovat. Think he is a player that will be a very good midfielder at the next level. A lot been said about his height, but he is only a cm or two smaller than Kerr and Mitchell, two of the best midfielders in the comp. I have him ranked at 23 but his performances probably have him better than that. Just a footballers footballer. Does everything right.
Maybe we could do 9 for 12 & 14 and tell them we won't go for Tyson next yearEvery possibility Garlett could be there.
Maybe we should trade them Pick 9 and Jayden Post for 12, 14 and consideration for Dom Tyson next year haha!
If we trade down, plenty of options, your boy Simpson comes into it. Vlastuin better at that pick. Towers I would consider at 14 after his Combine. May be a reach but a type we need, good kid, athletically gifted and ready to go.

If Garlett slides it's less risk having 2 choices. Take Vlastuin as the solid citizen and then one of Garlett, Simpson, Menzel, Towers at that pick. IRT Hrovat he is 2cm taller than what he was listed earlier. At 175cm he doesn't come across as such a midget anymore. I still think he will be there by 29/31 though due to a lack of speed for that height and will be a bargain to the team that grabs him.
I can't speak for Knightmare, but I moved him up just for something a bit different. In my next update, he is back to a more realistic #15.
There was an article on the AFL website about Garner a few weeks ago, which said he was a likely first round pick. And his form in the second half of the season has been just as good as those who are considered certain top 10 picks. And with all due respect to Phelan, being left off the list doesn't mean all that much really - maybe he was the 20th player? Personally, I still rate Stringer as a top 5 pick despite what Phelan said.
I figure if you rate a guy as the best available, then just take him. Who cares what the media say? Picking someone rated by them as a 15-20 prospect at #9 really isn't that big of a deal.
With Menzel's knees getting the ok I would take him over Simpson. And I'd take Garlett over both. Can't see MacRae or Mayes being there at 14 otherwise they are no brainers. I prefer Simpson over Kennedy.I know your deep love for Simpson but I certainly do not want him at 14. Garlett, Menzel, Macrae, Kennedy and Mayes are all far far far superior outside talents than he is. Before I posted a potential series of trades which would land us 12, 13, 21 and 35.
If we had those, I'd be looking to go
12) Vlastuin
14) Macrae/Garlett/Stringer (In order of preference)
21) Graham/Menzel/Lonergan (Membrey takes preference if available but I seriously doubt he will be.)
35) McBean/Best available KPP
i havent read the last 56 pages, but has anyone mentioned Nick Graham? With a morrish medal and premiership, he is not being mentioned as a top 10 playera lot where i look. is there a reason, and what would people think about him at 9?

Are you able to elaborate on Kennedy? Maybe Crows trying to tank him down the order?Pretty much spot on. I would also take Simpson in front of Stringer who I just can't trust. Watching him walk or run and noticing that limp, I'd stay clear but that is just me. No doubt a top 5 talent but that leg break was Nathan Brown esq, and we saw what happened to the best player in the league when he did his leg, he came back a pedestrian. For that reason Simpson would get the nod. I also think in terms of outside players, he is one of the better ones. If we drop down the order and take Vlastuin first, I don't think we will see Macrae or Mayes there. Garlett for mine then Simpson. Gone off Kennedy for us. Still think he is a top 10 talent, but heard about his interviews at the Combine, was not great. Where I heard Garlett interviewed well and most think he is a changed boy. Which was pleasing.

Oh, my bad. Apologies.PAT AMBROSE BEEP TEST: 16.3
he did this training with essendon last week, the AFL record is 16.1, he smashed it!
he is 6 ft 5 inches, 100 kg and played at coburg then old xavs at CHF this year. played u23 vic state team against WA this year, came 2nd in old xavs B&F to Mathew Ball by one vote AND missed 4 games.
he is training with hawthorn next week, and talking to sydney, but not richmond.
his brother, murphy ambrose is training with collingwood, but not richmond either.

Ahh well no point taking him by sounds of it because he'd be likely to jump ship anyway.Confidence you Can work with, arrogance causes problems. Let's just say, he wants to play with Adelaide and may get his wish.
I may be understating it, or may be blowing it up in people's eyes, it's just my opinion on the matter.
I've said for a while that we've had no interest in Kennedy.
I think a few clubs have dropped off now too.
Look if he is there at someones pick after 15 you would still take him, a Collingwood, Geelong could turn him into something special. I think he gets to Adelaide though, or Port takes a risk. Talk they like Mayes or Kennedy and you would think they would take best SA talent early.
That can work both ways !
Perhaps we are going to miss on that true A grade with # 9 but might get 1 out of 2 correct or perhaps even the 2 picks #12+#14
The club will know if the player we want will be around at what picks we have and if its worth down grading,I remember before the Martin Draft we were not prepared to take #6+#13 for #3 because Dusty would have been gone. But last year we were happy to downgrade to #15 because we knew GWS didnt have any interest in Ellis
But i like the Idea of having 2 of Vlastuin,O'Rourke,Garlett,Stringer,Kennedy,Macrae etc etc
I like the look of him, quick off the mark and a good turn of speed.....excellent overhead and another classy left footer....
Gee if we could land pics 12/13 (likely to be pic 14) off GWS for our pic 9 and perhaps a player we could surely snare 2 from this lot; Kennedy, Vlastuin, Garlett or Menzel....

AFL Draft Prospect Troy Menzel
***On talent alone Menzel, a forward-midfielder, has the credentials to be taken inside the top 10 at the ND next month, but clubs will first need to be completely satisfied that his LARS surgery won't be a major issue in the future...
