Well, Lynch players in a different position. But I agree he has really come on, especially in the back half of the year. The things we were promised about early on, like his ability to just always move about and pop up to kick goals is starting to be delivered. He has more confidence. Contested grabs need some work, but really shown some good signs.

And yeah, true above. Unfortunately Day wasn't playing, or was playing injured to really take advantage I guess. :P

I recall pretty much every recruiter had Day in the top 3 in the draft. No-one would have passed on him. Like I said, with a full pre-season and some more games into him, Day will start to show us more and more. It's taken Lynch about 30 games with full a pre-season in him to get motoring and show us some consistent stuff.

Day is sitting on 20 games with about 3 weeks of a pre-season in him. A little more if you include the second stint to Arizona he did. So yeah, just waiting to hold out judgment for now. From the glimpses I've seen, I'm pretty excited about him. :cool:
 
Yeah Day will a star. I personally just like Lynch better :P
 
No problem, whatlez. I just like to rant sometimes.

Opposition supporters sometimes call Day out since he has yet to really have a good haul yet, or said that he's shown nothing to keep persisting with. I just tell them to watch the Port Adelaide game. :P
 
There is talk Day might move to Collingwood :o

Where the heck did you pick this up from? Last year he was a monty to move to Port during the trade period if you believed the BigFooty hype.

He then signed for 4 years. :D

Lol there was little talk of a weird 3 way trade involved GC, Adelaide and Collingwood.

Was a little ridiculous, but was pretty much Day to CW, Cloke to GC and Cloke to Ade. It's more complecated, but yeah. Little rumours, but nothing it in haha.

I never knew about the BigFooty hype :confused:

Dont think so. Word from a Port poster 'in the know' is that Day hates Port, so would never sign for us (or request to). So not sure we were ever convinced this would happen once this was mentioned.

He was the best key position prospect in the draft, If the draft wasn't compromised he could have easily gone at pick number 1 if a club was desperate for a key position player, he is an athletic beast, who I think once he gets his tank up will start to dominate.

Collingwood is also pursuing a versatile big man. Melbourne's Stefan Martin, 25, is believed to be on the radar.
Lynch, 30 in January, could cost Carlton roughly a quarter of Cloke's asking price. A two-year deal worth between $250,000 and $300,000 could win his services.
Carlton captain Chris Judd is believed to have spoken favourably about the prospect of luring his strong-bodied 2006 premiership teammate at a Carlton list management meeting.
The 192cm forward-ruck is out of contract and out of favour at West Coast, after being overlooked for senior selection in the past two matches. He was last night named in an extended squad of 25 to play North Melbourne in Sunday's elimination final at Patersons Stadium.
The 207-gamer is an unrestricted free agent, meaning he could leave to the club of his choice.
Lynch's versatility to play key forward and in the ruck would appeal to the Blues, especially in the event the AFL introduces a new two-two substitute system next year.
Sources say Collingwood is highly active in its pursuit of a versatile big man, with up to $700,000 to offer another key position player to replace Cloke.
Magpies back-up ruckman Cameron Wood is out of contract and faces an uncertain future beyond this season.
The athletic Martin is contracted at Melbourne until the end of next season but could be traded as part of a major list turnover under coach Mark Neeld.

Jolly is the only one from the senior list isn't he....add Fraser and Krak, still many more to come from the senior list I would think. Does this also make Jolly a free agent?

There are a few ways to become a free agent. Staying at a club for a series of years is one. Being delisted is another. Just not known as much.
