Is that the specs of it? We have to cull 8 players off our list?

8 at the very least. Have to downsize our list by 4, as well as the compulsory addition of 4 picks, so that means we have to move on at least 8.

At this stage, I would be surprised to see Patrick go. He's shown enough in my eyes. I don't think he'll ever be a top 12 player, but he was really adapting to AFL level before that injury.

That's a lot of players moving on. Some serious decisions to be made. You'd think that McQualter would be put on the coaching staff, and possibly in a playing/coach role in the Neafl? Other than that, Fraser will likely hang up the boots. I guess my bet to be delisted would be: Coad, Krakouer, Toy, Horsley, Moss? They'd be my monties to go. And throw a blanket over Taylor, Gillbee, Hutchins, Nicholls? I guess a lot of it depends on Caddy as well. And Dicko I guess. But yeah I'm with you Sunny, Patrick has to be a whole level up on these guys you'd think. I'd say he'd be pretty safe, unless he had value in a trade.

Maybe. Personally I really don't rate him though. To me he should be showing a lot more at this stage, especially given his age. Maybe I am expecting too much though, but to me he'd have to be in the conversation - his upside seems limited.

Got to remember guys we won't be picking late in the draft. Probably done and dusted by the 3rd round outside the qld concession listings. This means there is no point trading for meaningless low picks. Need to upgrade picks, not accumulate.
This is the thing though.

The real tail end of your list isn't going to tempt any sort of movement amongst those with top 30 picks.
So I reckon there's a fair chance you'll end up doing nothing trades in the last couple of days; once you're staring down the barrel of delisting them for nothing anyway. Even if it's purely out of good faith (ie it's not going to cost you anything to trade a guy you're about to delist; and you're not going to be overly worried about helping out other clubs since you're a fair way off any premiership window).

We've poached the crows fitness coach Schwert. Let's hope he can take us up a level this off season.

Weller looking to move on I hear. Interesting considering his parents relocated to gc. Hawks, Lions, and Roos leading the race from what im told.

May solve a problem
I have Mav on my personal chop list
Has been given ample opportunities, but isn't showing me anything
If the rumours true I wouldn't be surprised if the Club is letting him know quietly where he stands in the pecking order and from what I've seen of Mav I think he rates himself higher than most of us do

Was looking much earlier in the year due to the lack of opportunity. Is much happier now with the game time he is being shown, and in my opinion is starting to find his feet. It's a matter of whether the club think the same.

Will be interesting to see if he starts to get played in a position he is actually comfortable in. Hates the back line and is the first to admit he feels lost down there, despite understanding the benefits.

I find that line surprising as he is a player, who except for one incident in the off season, is always leading by example and striving for self improvement and will do whatever it takes to get it. Very humble and DTE and is one of the more liked kids at the club.

Mav is right on the edge of being cut I think. He plays in a position where there are a lot in front of him.

Moving him to the backline was a way he might have kept in the team but he isn't florishing there like we all would have thought, he would attract a little attention too, as he has shown enough when played in the right position and given the right opportunity.

From what I know, I would be surprised if he isn't at the Suns next year (I know a total back flip on what I said earlier) but I have been wrong before. Certain players last year were shat on by the club and were not told about their delisting until the morning it was announced to public.

Mav would have to be my personal whipping boy.
He appears to be another man-child junior footballer who has struggled to develop as other players have gone past him.
He lacks composure and is a poor decision maker with the ball in hand.
If he has any sort of trade value given the club has pumped games into him I would be cashing in our chips on him (package him up with Caddy, Toy or Nicholls) and reload with another good youngster via the draft.

Not a comment on his personality or strength of character...more a comment on how he perceives his footy ability.
Makes bad decisions and backs himself to run through packs that in my opinion he's just not ever going to do
Just strikes me as a guy who did whatever he wanted in TAC and hasn't adjusted to AFL - yet

Think Mav has improved as the year has gone on , but agree he does butcher the ball sometimes , cant see us delisting him , has shown glimpses and hopeful he has a break out game soon.
