NRL 2012 Melbourne Storm Thread

So the options:

Dragons: This has gained massive momentum since yesterday. Has the cap space. Would be a massive coup.

Souths: Slight murmurs but this would be a surprise. Has a few friends but I'm not sure that they have cap room. Would mean massive 3rd party deals and a huge rabbit out of the hat. If it came down to who he knows where well he knows more people at the Storm anyway.

Titans: The favourites. Massive contract offered and has appeal to Cooper. Only sticking points is the fact the club has debt of over 30 million dollars. The NRL has guaranteed that GC will exist but would be unlikely as the Titans if Searle is pushed out.

Storm: Not likely at all. Our offer would be the least of any of the other mentioned. I find it odd that the Storm would stay quiet but let Cooper have a press conference. Seems to have come clean that Cooper has not accepted there current 4 year deal. Would be amazing if it was all a big "SURPRISE I'M STAYING".

The smokey:
Rebels: Interested from day one and have been very coy. With Danny Cipriani announcing that he is going back to England this leaves the potential for a massive offer to Cronk. Would keep him in Melbourne and really could offer him more then any other team. Leaves the option to play for the Wallabies and become a dual international. Was a Rugby School boy.

Anyway we will know at 10.30 tomorrow morning.

Cooper Cronk will sign a 4 year deal with the Melbourne Storm tomorrow.

Could do. I dont understand why the Storm are entertaining this press conference. Even the Facebook page is pumping it up. A real **** tease if he leaves.

I was talking it up as well. Great PR stunt by the Melbourne Storm, made news in most places on the eve of their heritage round match.

Gee so anyone can get a gig down at your club I'm guessing ;)

Be interesting to see tomorrows crowd. Trying to get out of babysitting but don't like my chances :(

12k tops. Tnight's and tomorrow night's AFL will just take too many dual-code supporter's attention.

I am actually a little bit emotional.
**** it, I wasn't going to go tomorrow night, but now I think I have to.

Yep...I couldn't eat breakfast as I didn't have an appetite until after the conference.
Just sick of losing players I'm glad we retained a biggie.

The PR on this for us was huge.

I reckon the big plus is, the Titans position which could keep him here. I hope so as that gives the Warriors a better chance of getting Foran.

I'm breathing a big sigh of relief at least for the next 4 years anyway.

I don't give the Warriors one iota of a chance getting Foran. Manly will stitch him up somehow seeing DEC is staying put.

Storm for life.:thumbsu:

Ye of so little faith lol.

Coops is a different kettle of fish to most players, so private and organised, I was almost 100% sure he would stay, but privately praying, crossing finger and toes and so glad the Titans were in some sort of trouble...that was the key to it all.

If you're a Richmond supporter, happy days don't exist. While Storm make finals every year, Richmond sees September action once every 15 years.
Hilarious.

I guess being knocked out week 1 is much better.:thumbsu:
