True I get ur point was just thinking of still keeping magner even if he's out for first round but then if there are other options who are just as likely to play games early then I'd go with them for the quick cash but in saying that magner is still locked in at 94k

Which GWS Rookies look good.

I have a list of:

Liam Sumner
D Shiel
Sam Reid
Tim Mohr
A Miles
T Greene
S Clifton
D Smith
Conglio
D Tyson

Any thoughts?

Missing Bugg, Darley, Giles, McDonald, Kennedy.

Can anybody suggest a mid rookie who has a round 13 bye?

Wingard and Pfeiffer are the only ones I can see likely to get games. Is there anybody else?

Basically the Port hierarchy believe he just doesn't have the engine at this stage - obviously a super talent - he will probably get game time this season but later in the year. Check the Port forum here if you like - probably facing a Gaff-like introduction to the game at the top level.

Apologies for the "lolwut", that was a bit silly of me.

I would be hugely surprised if Wingard doesn't get serious game-time from the start. A #6 pick in the draft, playing in a team that most pundits reckon will be bottom-four (showed good signs in the NAB though). I think he can play off a flank with an occasional run through the midfield towards the end of a Qtr if his body is not ready for the engine room full-time.

The Gaff comparison is not a great one IMO - more depth in the WCE's midfield, in a team challenging for a Top 4 spot.

I would be surprised if he doesn't get some game time this season - but I'm basing my view on this on the view of Port supporters/mods on here who know a lot more about what's going on at the club than what I do. If I'm proven wrong I hope you have him in your Supercoach side.

I'm getting increasingly frustrated at the plethora of options in round 11, especially in the rookies.

Shiel and Treloar when fit, Kerridge, Clay and Devon Smith, Koby Stevens and the rest of the gun GWS kids are the only players that warrant selection in my midfield rookie spots at the moment.

Magner and Neale were both in my team before this round, so their injuries are a big letdown.

Anyone have any thoughts on this predicament?

Keep an eye on Ledger, he only played 2 games as sub last year but has had a good pre-season. Rookie price for Supercoach.

This is my point. There's heaps of options, but 11 of your 16 players named are from Round 11, and two of these that are outside of R11 are injured.

You would have to be super lucky to be able to trade all of your rookies out by round 11.

Just cop the one or 2 zero's and not worry about it.

My motto is if I'm in the hunt at around the bye period then I will be aggressive with my trading and may even swap premiums around. If I'm off the pace, I'll just suck it up and focus on my 2 cash leagues

Yeah I currently have a do nothing result of:
4 doughnuts round 11.
0 doughnuts round 12.
5 doughnuts round 13.

The round 13 ones can be fixed simply by trading out 5 of the round 13 players over two weeks. ( If I want to ).

If I had more rookies taking a bye in round 12, Id get less doughnuts in round 11 but I'd have to trade to avoid the same number of doughnuts in round 12.

I'm not going to stress too much. If I can avoid them while making suitable trades at the time I will.
I just know that after I've turned all my team upside down, so that I've got a rookie averaging 40 playing instead of getting a doughnut, Garry Ablett will be a late withdrawl.

can anyone suggest a decent def/mid MPP rookie i can start in the mid??

Only one that comes to mind is Luke Brown from Adelaide, although he hasn't played at all this preseason.

Docherty from the Lions was a good one but also haven't seen him play. Zorko another player I haven't noticed that's played. And if they don't play next week highly unlikely they will appear round 1.

Docherty's back this weekend. Zorko's probably going to miss at least one regular season game. Both will likely come back through the reserves as well.

probably been asked on here already but whats james magner's situation? surely he'll get an upgrade the senior list. same goes for darren pfeiffer from port
