Reminds me a little like Jack Riewoldt, wondering if its a massive concern about his endurance and him nearly collapsing after the time trial considering I don't think he played all/most of last year after the basketball incident
He was diagnosed with Glandular Fever the following day after the Combine so that may have done it

I know that but he wasn't noted for having the best endurance even before the combine
Think Knightmare had him somewhere in the 10 range or maybe even lower on his write up

I think he's endurance can be improved like L. Jones is slowly would be a great pick up Jones as Stay at Home FF and Harvey up the ground with Crameri 3rd tall potentially

I've rated him (Harvey) for a while now, wouldn't be surprised to see him go higher then predicted due to the lack of KPP options; so I agree he would be a great pick up

I wanted Conlon & Harvey
The two towering red-heads in the red white & blue

Hmmmm, that does make me a lot more confident if we do pick him. I do love footy players with a basketball background.

I'de be pissed if we took Bontempelli at 4. I hate reaching with early picks. It's fraught with danger

11 more days to the draft.....come on

That is not reaching at all. Reaching is when you don't go best available and go for a need instead. If we pick Bontempelli it's because we think he has the potential to be the best in the draft.

Just took Alex Spina for us at pick 60 but don't have the time to do a write up just yet. I'll post it here when I get the chance to do it, but I was very happy to get him at 60 as I rate him a 30-50 talent.

Dannnn, conlon looks a little, ummmmm, timid going for the footy in the clips online. Is that a concern or is he genuinely hard at it and brave in the air?
Not at all a concern for mine. Very good overhead and I've never seen him back away or resist a physical contest.

Not a fan of Conlon at all. Harvey looks to have potential though
I'd argue that there's just as much uncertainty around Harvey as there is Conlon. Harvey's played almost exclusively school footy and as a big, tall body it would be very easy for him to look good. Not a natural at all. I like both but the uncertainty argument for Conlon is applicable to both of them.

Yeah fair enough I just find it easier to envision Harvey being the kind of player I'd want but less so with Conlon

Ideally we don't take either of them as we've already well and truly filled our redhead quota.

If we get enough redheads we don't have to wear the red guernsey ever again. It's all part of the plan! :D

I prefer Conlon to Harvey myself, Conlon would easily be a top 15 pick if not for his injury, maybe top 10. Harvey would be a 2nd round probably even without the glandular fever.

You've crossed the line. Gingers are making a comeback and they're cool now, ok?
They do go faster, I suppose. ;)

I wouldn't have a problem with the red guernsey if it looked less pink. :P

That's a possibility, but I don't agree that it's an "easy" prediction. One of the concerns on Conlon is that it's difficult to know if he would've improved or if he had in fact peaked; for all we know his footy may have stalled even without the injury and have fallen down the order. They're also in incomparable situations as the knock on Harvey is that he played predominantly school footy so it's incredibly difficult to tell where his footy is at and where his ceiling actually is. Harvey should be expected to be a bit behind Conlon (injuries aside) because he hasn't been in any sort of proper club environment.

I'm backing Conlon in that he would have had natural improvement without the injury. I know that Harvey has predominantly played school footy, but there must be a reason he hasn't played in a more professional environment, which makes me doubt him a little bit. For some reason, Conlon just looks to me like he won't get bullied whereas Harvey could. It's a bit like the KK/Bontempelli situation. KK has a, let's say 80% chance of becoming a very good AFL player, whereas Bontempelli has a 50% chance (I'm not here to argue the percentages, just using them to explain a point.) However, if they both make the grade as AFL footballers, Bontempelli has a better chance of becoming an elite player. But KK is the safer bet. To me Harvey COULD be better than Conlon, but I have doubts on whether Harvey will actually make it, but Conlon I think will make it even if it's just as a role player.

As you said it's hard to judge, but I'd prefer Conlon. Of course it's all hypothetical because of injuries and other circumstances.

I mean part of the reason I'm less of a fan of Conlon is because I thought he was a bit squirmish at times/doesn't throw his weight around enough but then again I thought some of these things about Macrae last year but he has shown that I'm definitely wrong about that

I think if Conlon can put bulk on his frame & put his injuries behind him, he could be an absolute freak

Since he trained with us as well earlier in the year, our recruiters would hopefully have a good idea on whether they'd like him at out third round pick and I hope he is an option :)

Yeah I'm definitely against him at pick 42 but pick 60 is just so speculative I'd be fine with taking him

Completely off track but just asking out of curiosity.

One of my major projects during my uni break this year is to put together somewhat of a 'list management' website. I'm planning on having draftee write-ups each year, as well as mock drafts, draft previews/reviews, trade period previews/reviews, list management perspectives on the sides as well as a few other odds and ends. Given what you've seen of my write ups etc on here, would it be something that anybody on here would be interested in reading through/following?

It's unlikely I'll have it up in time for this year's draft but I'm likely to do write-ups for all of this year's players anyway. Planning on my first article being an "off-season review" for all clubs, but at this point I'm just gauging interest.
