Rumour that Dayle Garlett 'chucked a sickie' on a meeting with Port recruiters. What the hell is wrong with this kid?

I would have said I can't see him being drafted again this year, but now Essendon have lost picks 1 and 2 I reckon they might just take the punt in round 3.
Hmmm yeah but then it's an even bigger risk if he dosent turn out. How will he handle the hype too

My conspiracy theory is that Essendon have been in his ear, promising him they'll pick him up if he shuns a few opposition scouts to let the word circulate a bit that he's still tarnished goods. This in anticipation of losing their first two picks, so they still have a shot at a top talent.

Let's be honest, they've done worse!

Willy Rioli is the one to target! has been kicking bags of goals in the WAFL Colts, uses the ball really well forward of centre and averages about 4 score assists each game.

Get all three - package deal!:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Or the more plausible reason of he's a ****wit. :p

we need to get this kid:

Luke Dunstan (SA –Mid/Fwd)
Height: 185cm, Weight: 83kg, DOB: 29/01/1995
Recruited from: Woodville-West Torrens
Style: Brad Sewell (with better ability forward of centre)
Player comparison:
Range: 5-25
Profile: Dunstan is a dominant inside midfielder with a strong body. Has future captain potential having captained SA through the u18 championships and is highly regarded for his leadership abilities. Has played plenty of senior SANFL footy and has played some strong footy. Big time accumulator and a natural inside ball winner with the ability to win the clearances. Has very clean hands and that ability to be that real inside distributor with his work in close by hand as good as you’ll find really working to dish it off to those outside runners and get others involved. Not only is Dunstan an exceptional inside player but he can also swing forward, take a mark and hit the scoreboard when given the opportunity and I expect he will continue to be a very damaging player at the next level. Opinions on his kicking vary, but by position I’ve mostly been pretty happy with what he’s done not only finishing but also hitting his targets around the field. Not a particularly high level athlete with his pace below average and is more that strong bodied inside midfielder who can play right away.

who wrote this dribble?

Knightmare did, it's on the phantom drafts. I think it's pretty accurate to me, what would you say about the captain of the side which just dominated the champs?

look everyone is a star for various reasons- we need to draft NEEDS. ruck and mid fwd.

There is hardly any good rucks in this draft. You'd know this if you followed the draft.

and mid fwd.

Medium forwards can be drafted later, this kid is a gun. Plus, getting a guy like Dunstan allows Edwards to push up forward and play there permanently. Plus, as said before, Dunstan can kick a goal. If we want a goal scoring midfielder who is a little more offensive, then maybe Taylor is an option. Dunstan and Wilson would be a fantastic result IMO.

Darcy Cameron says hi from the rucks :p

I did say hardly. :p I like Cameron, I thought he was really good for WA in the champs. Do you think his lack of quality opposition is a problem for him though? I like it how on the bound for glory website they list his only weakness as age. What? Since when is being 18 years old a weakness, I guess he'd be better if he was 25 years old? I know what they're saying, clubs don't want to take a risk with mature aged rucks, but I find find it odd. I wouldn't mind him as a third round pick, it would allow Richmond to take two midfielders and still fill out their ruck stocks. Maric, Vickery, Cameron and possibly a rookie state leaguer would be enough IMO.

I did notice you said hardly but I want to keep pumping this kid up. Really like him. Grundy was up against compete spuds last year and hasn't hurt him. Lobb is the one who if he really is 205cm I'd grab. Basketball background. Otherwise Sikora or just rookie Derickx who at least knows the game plan. Or grab another delisted ruckman this year.

Fair enough, poor Cameron is the result of some massive over correcting IMO. Clubs are unwilling to invest highly on a ruckman which could be a bust, and I get that, but if Cameron goes at around 50-60 as a few on bigfooty have said, it's crazy IMO. I'd have to be a fairly good small prospect for me to be unwilling to pass him up at the third round. Imagine if Richmond got Dunstan and Wilson and Cameron.

Alik Magin/Maverick Weller anyone?

Went to the TAC finals on the weekend - here's a few observations:

- Christian Petracca (EASTERN) is one to keep an eye on for next year. Strongly built high-half forward who has kicked a few bags this year. Kicked only 1 goal 3 on the weekend, but racked up 20 touches and was the one Ranger who would have had the Stingray's coaching staff worried when he had the ball.

- Ben Cavarra got a lot of it, but turned it over by turning and bombing the ball out of the contest. His combination of below average decision making and disposal and his lack of height really hurt him.

- Daniel McStay didn't impose himself as perhaps you'd have expected him to. Dandenong rely on two underage KPB's (Kempster and Gray), and despite Eastern having 3 tall forwards (Apeness, O'Sullivan and McStay) they couldn't find enough goals. Certainly wasn't helped by the delivery, but McStay plays more like a tall flanker than a proper KPF. Think his home is down back though. Got a lovely, flowing kicking action and nice agility for a bloke his height.

- Michael Apeness kicked two and looked dangerous all day in a really good battle with Kempster. Doesn't use his weight advantage as much as you'd expect, but he's got a nice pluck and reads the ball pretty well in flight. Got the turning circle of a mac truck. Bits to work with, but he's very, very raw.

- Jack Lonie (DANDENONG) is again, one to keep an eye on for 2014. 173 cm small forward with elite acceleration and agility and an innate goal sense.

- Clay McCartney had 17 touches and 2 goals. Knocks on his top-line acceleration but he's got this uncanny goal sense, and a very nice goal sense. Not sure how he translates to that next level as he maybe doesn't have the stamina to play as a high-half forward, but is instead better suited to that pocket role. But he was very good in that half-forward role on Saturday.

- When people talk of prospects for 2014, you hear McCartin, Goddard, Watchman, Pickett, Smith, Waterman, Moore, Durdin, etc but not nearly enough of Daniel Capiron. He was level 1 AIS this year, and level 2 next year. 188 cm flanker at both ends, but was superb for Dandenong off the HBF on Saturday. Took the kick-ins, found it 23 times and racked up 7 marks, but it's his poise (with and without the ball) and ability to read the play that really stands out. His kicking is superb too. I normally claim an under the radar underager (Aaron Christensen last year) but I think Capiron is my slightly higher profile boy for 2014.

- Dandenong's midfield three amigo's (Hartung, Jones and Harmes) were much too good for Eastern. All have been invited to draft camp, and all three can find the ball (Jones had the least of it with 24). Hartung you all know about, but I'd be surprised if Jones' draft stocks don't keep rising after a really good last month or two. He's high impact with the ball and can cut you up with his offensive running and he's hard as a cat's head. Harmes is the tallest of the three but very much a vanilla midfielder without a superb attribute.

Will write up Falcons v Calder later.

First pick draft best available. When you try and force a pick you end up with a Matt Watson, Bootsma, Lucas Cook ect...

Dunstan is everything we look at drafting with our 1st pick, Leader, Hard at it, Decent disposal (on the left anyway) and strong in the forward line. Sheed is the other one who is similar. And both dominated Champs for their respective state sides.
