Dogs get pick #1
GWS get Griff and Dogs second rounder (and steak knives?)
Saints get pick#4, pick#6, pick#19

So maybe something like this then?

Either we have been GWS back up plan if Griffen woosed out and the Pelican has been played or this was always part of the plan and GWS will trade Boyd for Griffen + 6.

Then send us the picks 4 + 6 + 19 for 1 or something like that. Probably different picks and Carlton Jacksh Whiley and pick 7 possibly involved as well. Something that meets what Jaxons was suggesting.

I imagine this was all in the works for some time just a question of if we were piggybacking on the deal or GWS were just stringing us along like last year.

Whatevs.

When you realise that calling out “Christian Pettraca, Eastern Ranges” on November 27 is as bad as it can get, well things are going along quite nicely I reckon

This is why you need to be quick quick quick!

So apparently there were 1-2 other teams after pick 1....time to pick that phone back up! Be nice if we could get that extra pick another way.

First amazed with Beames, then Griffin leaving Collingwood and the Dogs respectively.

Then smile when I think of all of those who attack us for culture, especially in light of just signing 19 of our youngest and brightest for two to four years each.

Joffaboy is right, no time to panic, as some of the greatest deals come in times of uncertainty and chaos. Pelchen has a proven track record of being able to make offers and conclude deals. The amount of key players wanting to leave clubs, leaves so many options for him to get involved.

He may keep Pick 1, rather than disadvantage the club, but if he does it surely won't be for the lack of looking at options and putting forward trade scenarios. Only regret is that we aren't given a table of all possible trade options at the end of this process, as surely that alone, would keep this keep this thread running for a further 1,000 pages, just analysing the "What If's" and the "If Only's".

Continuing the pelicanesque digression.

In Church history, the pelican is actually a symbol of self-sacrificial love. For centuries, pelicans were thought to love their young so much, that they would tear open their own chests so that their children could feed off their blood - they were thought to literally bleed for the cause, they loved it so much.

You see pelicans sometimes in church stain-glass windows. My avatar is one particular example.

In light of this news and its potential to screw up a trade for pick 1 with GWS, do we go all out for Jaksch and try and stop GWS getting pick 7? Offer him big(er) money to change his mind and possibly force him to the PSD.

No. He's not worth that.
