Now this is some funny shit, on the Poort board they seem to think Ken Hinkley came up with the term "We will get what we deserve" and everyone else is just copying him now..

Da hell?
This has been used forever and a day in many walks of life, a lot in footy especially..
:D:thumbsu:
Adam?? :)

I think it's a two horse race between the Hawks and the AFL Swans.

I don't really rate Freo's chances at all, even though they're the team i'd least hate to win it.

Will demetriou accept the trophy this year if the Colas win it? Would be a nice parting gesture from the swans.

I don't understand why Port are able to get the port full game day experience with the never tear us apart song.
I am strongly against it. So what if it is a big part of the game day experience that means it should definitely not be included.
An afl final is an afl match, crows missed out on little things as part of their game day experience.

Does this mean if it was a crows vs port final port would have got first preference to tickets despite afl rules as port would have kicked up a huge fuss and Adelaide would have just taken the hit?

You're right and they've just caved in to this good news story that is Port and the sideshow that goes with it..
I've heard Port supporters complaining that they wouldn't get first shot at tickets if it was a showdown final, didn't worry them in 2005 when it was our home game in the showdown final..

So no one else can create the game day to be like it's their home game in finals, yet they can do there waah waah song about the bad footy people wanting to tear them apart when they did a good enough job of it themselves in many ways.. Amazing..

Agree that the home and away guernseys for some teams are a joke and so is that ruling but Port are getting to do their home game pregame stuff, finals are supposed to be neutral games and Port claim it gives them an advantage.

If we could of put a stop to Port doing their pre-game then I don't see why Richmond couldn't say no either so the guernsey thing almost evens it up.

The AFL really are a joke sometimes.

Appalling that they allow a team to design a clash strip so inadequate that a home team has to wear their away jumper twice this year.

The AFL are soft, so scared to upset some clubs..
Force these clubs to design a proper away or clash strip!!!

We are reportedly forced to design a jumper with white as the the predominant colour when it's not even one of our colours, yet they don't even have to make their jumper mostly yellow for example, let alone colours which have nothing to do with them..

Happy for it to happen to Port but black sash on a yellow jumper with white shorts looks good, I don't know why Richmond don't use that as a clash guernsey.

This is one of those things where I would want the club to just do what's right and cop the fine but it never happens.

I think the NTUA song is pretty lame, but if Port want to do it I couldn't give a shit.. I'm certainly not 'against it' like some poster wrote above... seriously, how can you be against something like that....? Sure if you don't like it, or think it's lame, but is it hurting anyone?

Their home final so I don't see the issue if they do it....

That Richmond are forcing another team to wear their clash because of their pissweak attempt at making one is a joke though

I would have all home finals except the grand final as genuine home games, full pregame control, videos between goals, the whole lot.

Just not happy when exceptions are made for one team because the media has latched on to something. They are not the only club to have music other than the club song before the game, let everyone do it or no one.

If Hawthorn and Sydney make the GF, Sydney will win.

If Fremantle and Hawthorn make the GF, Hawthorn will win.

Disagree.

Freo froze in their first GF, probably was always going to happen. Hawthorn are not the same side they were last year.

Freo were very good when they had to be last week, exceptionally good. Always had another gear.

Think you're underrating Hawthorn a bit. Consider the Geelong effect - these guys just know how to win big games. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be surprised to see Freo take it right up to anyone, but I just think the Hawks have the edge in that contest.

I know that success is built upon club culture and a large part of that is usually things like your home jumper etc. But it's only one aspect.

If it was the Crows I'd much rather we said "who gives a sh** about what jumper we wear" and built our culture on Ross Lyons creed of any club anywhere anytime + in any guernsey. To me not being able to wear your favourite jumper or play your favourite song is a piss weak distraction from the business of winning. It's like clubs saying "we want to play an attractive brand of football that our fans like to watch." F*** that, play as ugly as you like, there is nothing more attractive than winning consistently - or even losing after full-on effort.

Question: you get this offer - you will play in the GF next year but you have to wear that clash guernsey you hate so much in EVERY game. Otherwise normal guernsey arrangements but take your chances. Would you take the offer?

Of course you would.

Leigh Matthews is possibly the greatest player ever, a legend as a coach too. When Eddie MacGuire was sooking about Collingwood not wanting to have to design a clash strip Lethal said who cares what your jumper is? Knows the difference between building a culture around symbols that might make it more likely you'll win and building one around actually winning.

Wish the Crows would develop this mentality. Roo is the man to do it.
