If you decide to play again next year, stick to the guns and rookies strategy when picking your starting squad selection. Morris and Dawson should never ever be picked, Mayne and Kennedy were very risky picks, you probably missed the boat with Merrett and didn't upgrade him once he peaked (I upgraded him to Breust once he threw up a crap score), Murphy has been underpar, Walters got injured, so a bit 50-50 there.
Cheers GYP, will do. Had a crack back in about '09 and lost interest quickly after not studying it properly. Foresight would've been to do as you suggested, and start off with more premos. Gamble on rookies instead of dross like Dawson and Morris.

Yup try and stack your forwards and backs with midfielders. If you check the highest scoring backs you see Swallow, Mcveigh, Bartel, Burgoyne - Forwards Danger, Gray, Parker and Martin up there.

By far my worst trade of the year was trading out Libba before round 7 for swan when i thought he was going to take off again after his ANZAC day 143. Since then Libba has averaged about 140 while swan has averaged a whopping 86 and missed last week.

First and last time iv broken the golden rule of never sideways trading a premium :(

The other that one that backfired on me was a panic trade at about midnight on a Friday night, trading Polec to get in Selwood or Johnson ( bringing forward a planned trade) before the Freo game so that i could get Buddy after his bye. Went with Johnson and cost myself 80 points that week, a suspension and the 70k that hes subsequently lost.

Judd_Magic liked this post. He lives!!!!

LOL!

Yeah have calmed down after the weekend mate.

Boy was I pissed off at the tripple wammy I had (Enright, Swan, Wingard)

Add to that Roughead spudding it up and my overall ranking falling from 1,945 to 2,530 I really had just about had enough. :(

Think I'm just burnt out from trying to play catch up all year too as I never started with Swallow, Hibberd, Simpson, Parker, Pendles, Selwood, Murphy and then spud moves like starting Enright over Swallow, Wingard over Gray and trading Roughead out then back in and now having to trade him out again this week for Shenton so I can upgrade Halihan to Murphy to complete my mids.

You were right Jiska, KPF's are dead in SC. I'll never be picking one ever again for as long as I play SC.

You're trading out Roughie again? You're so generous to urine away your trades for our amusement :thumbsu:

I'm downgrading him to Shenton so I can upgrade Halihan (my M8) to Murphy.

Figure Shenton at F6 will score more consistently then Roughspud and he will make alot of cash so hopefully later on I can upgrade him to Gray or Harvey if then come down in price.

Pissed off with the way Roughspud has farked me over this year and for me being dumb enough to trade him back in. :(

Like Jiska said KPF's are dead in SC now, they just aren't worth picking! :(

I probably had it worse than you. I had Wingard's 10, put Taylor's 43 on over Shenton, traded out Langford because he was out and he randomly comes back in and almost tons up (and increases in price too). Also had Walker out replaced by Bews' big 29. That's Cutler, Walker and Langford supposedly out in one line before the round even started. To top things off I lost my league match by 15 points because Dean Cox was outscored by Luke McDonald at his home ground.

That's pretty rough man.

Swan, Halihan, Wingard and Roughspud were what killed my score on the weekend.

At least Langford played or it would have been worse as I would have had to count Gardiners score. :drunk:

Good to have you back as you're the only sane Carlton supporter in here.

I had a shower week traded Cutler and hes likely to be back this week.
played bews for Enright.
Played Lewis for swan.
Traded LangFord but happy with jaensch.
Missed the wildman boat and will pay more if i get him this week.
Have tough league matches coming up likely to lose.
At least Billy got 50 as sub and has low b/e still mooing and ammo is also still mooing with hes 70.

lol. You're still 2530, that's awesome considering where you've come from.

I didn't start with Swallow (got talked out of him but traded him in Round 3 when Mitchell went down), Simpson, Parker (traded him in when the other Mitchell went down), Selwood (traded in after Bye), or Furphy (no hope), but I did have Pendles and Hibberd to start.

It's not always what you start with, but what you trade in that counts. Yeah, not starting with Pendles probably a bad move, GAJ and him are locks IMO, but other than Hibberd who hasn't been that great anyway I didn't have any of those to start but got them in during the year while you stuffed around with Roughy and Zorko etc ;)

I know Gingy will jump down my throat, but I'd avoid Furphy. Most of his big scores have been against weaker teams and Carlton have a horrid draw coming up. Why not look at Goddard, Barlow who are consistent or even Fyfe who will bottom out at 520k in two weeks time?
