She's back again!!!

Unfortunately with some underwhelming teams.

- Firstly, Victory are in - who as a fan of Australian football, not just a Victory fan, I really like.

- we have Juve, who were in Sydney 2 years ago... but I'm happy to have them here cos that'll be ****ing huge here in Melbourne.

- Tottenham are the WTF? team. They're not the caliber of "big club" who is traditionally playing under this ICC banner, and I don't think they even sold out Sydney 5 months ago.

- there will be a third European team announced in Feb - the early rumour seems to be Atletico Madrid from what I've seen on Twitter. they have some great young players, and they're more interesting than Spurs... for that reason I hope they aren't the contingency option if they don't get anyone better. IF we could get Bayern or PSG out here, I'd rather Spurs be booted than Atletico.

First game looks to be Victory v Juve on 23 July, 2 weeks after the Euros finish. So on the positive side of this; teams will have to bring great squads cos they have such short off seasons. The negative is that anyone who gets the slightest twinge or a knock is unlikely to play.

I'm still crossing my fingers for PSG or Bayern! Or obviously Barca if this Atletico rumour is bullshit.

You're right 72k isn't a sell out and is a laughing stock crowd for a game in the fickle city of Sydney

Don't be a defensive homer mate. Of course Tottenham have their fans - but to try and defend any notion that they're on the same level as Real, City, or even Roma would be so ridiculous.

Just calling out a blatantly false claim that they got a poor crowd in Sydney when it was only a few thousand less than Real Madrid drew in Melbourne. Roma v City was a pretty poor turnout something like 40-50k. Apart from AC, Juve, United & Liverpool everyone is on a rung down on them

Stoked about Juve coming over again, havnt seen them live for a couple of years so can't wait

Who said it was a poor crowd? Please, show me.

You are the worst kind of homer - it doesn't matter what people actually say, you'll just make up what they said to whinge and get defensive about.
"and I don't think they even sold out Sydney 5 months ago"

Your exact words. They actually got a shit load closer to selling out the stadium than City v Roma did. In fact in terms of % capacity they actually were slightly ahead of the 80k that turned up to the Real game.

If it's in terms of quality on the pitch you fail to grasp what these tournaments are actually about. Benfica v Zenit are more likely to go far in the CL but they'd struggle to draw 30k to a friendly, that's not what the organisers are after
