Bartel and Bennell (F4) vs

Gray and Swan vs

Gray and Bonts
Swan won't get near 100+, ~90 imo, Bonts has a small chance
option 1 if I had to choose, try get Gray in asap, don't expect to play less than 600k though

Why do you think Swan won't get back to 100+? Thought he was flying on the track, is that opinion only due to NAB performance?
I just think he's done, will be the same as last year, long stints in the forward line, low disposal efficiency, high clanger count, expect a few little injuries to pop up
At the end of the day, he won't drop in value so it's not a horrible pick, 85-95 average for me, which is perfectly fine for a mid/fwd swingman
I just think there's much better options for a little bit extra
Would love to be proven wrong, the old Swan would help my team drastically but I just can't see it.
If he smashes out a 110+ average then I'm the idiot

In my opinion the only way Swan will go 100+++ is if we play him off half back, behind the ball where he'll rack up huge numbers, which could be a possibility

I'm trying to weigh up the pros and cons of starting him or not starting him, considering he is such a popular pick (53% ownership)
Ie.
the WIN of starting without him and seeing him average 85-95
vs.
the LOSS of starting without him and seeing him get back to 110

Which situation carries more weight or would have more of an effect on your ranking? If that makes sense..

Yeah that makes sense, woah didn't realise his ownership was so high.
Scroll up to my post I added a little at the end, he could go nuts with uncontested ball playing in the back, no idea though
One thing swan has got going for him this season is we finally have a fit squad, including a bunch of small/medium forwards fighting for spots, so having swan up forward isn't needed, permanent mid role with time behind the ball could see him go 110+++

Wines

I'm in the process of weighing up Deledio and Franklin myself. I'm leaning towards Deledio but if the Bombers play a top-up squad that'll change pretty quickly.

Yeah I'm keen on Wines. It's now Bennell v Buddy v Deledio for me, I will start with 2 of the 3.

Lids averaged 115 over the last 10 games last year, looked super fit against North and I expect him to average more than Martin.
Franklin similarly averaged around 112-115 after the bye last year. Will be hard to leave out if Dons get banned, and their next 4 games aren't bad either. I'm not worried about his lack of NAB minutes from all reports he has had a super preseason.
Bennell is a big breakout contender for mine, looks super fit and a lot of hard running in the NAB and scored over 100 in all 3 games. Has the potential to avg. 110 IMO.

I really want to start with all 3, tough call and I'm no closer to a decision.

I'd take Buddy and Deledio out of those 3. Both have a proven and solid track record whereas Bennell has struggled with inconsistency. Flying in the pre-season but that's without Gaz or O'Meara who I imagine will slot back in early-mid season. Obviously there's the risk-reward with Bennell as he could take that next step.

Looks like the Buddy v Lids decision will come down to the Bombers Asada verdict, it's tough to pick either of them outright.

What do you think Bennell will average?

If there's anything that worries me about picking Swan, it's this. The whole reason he was scoring so high in SC in previous seasons was that he was gathering so many possessions that his clangers and low DE didn't effect his scores as much as they were combined with contested ball. The less touches to clanger/DE% ratio you have, the worse your scores are going to be. His DT/SC Ratio is historically crap, so you need him to get the ball a lot for him to score well.

I've still got him locked in my side, as i'd rather pick him and he averages 90ish, than not pick him and he ends up averaging 100+, but definitely see the argument.
