AFL Club
Adelaide
At the end of the minor round:

-Cola Swans - Amazingly, have been around the top 4 for more than a decade. Obviously nothing to do with the extra $1million salary cap they receive. What a joke.

-The Alberton drug cheats - Their use of first round draft picks has been sensational but they're trading has been just as good. Will win at least 2 premierships in the next 5-7 years. Worst supporter base in the competition.

-Hawthorn - One maybe two years to go before they start to decline. Great club, best in AFL history.

-Geelong - Will possibly finish ion the top 4 but not a genuine premiership chance. I see a big difference between the 4th placed club and the top 3.

-Nth Melbourne

-Gold Coast - They, the Colas and GWS are the only thing standing between Port and multiple premierships but can they, and especially GWS, retain their elite young talent. Unlikely.

-Freo

-AFC - Top 8 players are as good as any in the competition but player 15+ is a real preoblem. If people still think Trigg and co. wasn't a complete disaster for this club have a look at our 2014 pre-draft/trade depth. Need to trade and draft aggressively in the next few years if we want to win that elusive 3rd flag. Did we do that this year?

Grand Finalists - The Colas vs The Alberton drug cheats. Who wins, who cares.

Brownlow Medal - Paddy Dangerfield

Leading Goal Kicker - Schultz

Tex will kick more goals than Schultz next year and Brad Crouch and Sloane will steal too many brownlow votes from Patty for him to get over the line.

Our 2014 pre draft/trade depth didn't have any currency. One of the most disappointing aspects that highlighted our position.
Question marks on Freo and Kangas for me as well. Tightrope walking.
GF Hawks and Paer
Coleman. Tex or Roughhead

At the risk of stating the obvious, alot of our year depends on how Tex goes year 2 post injury.

So hard to do these days with 18 teams. Team i have missing the 8 wouldn't surprise me to make the top 4.

Brownlow: Grey
Coleman: Tex
Premiers: Sydney

Does anyone else think the Hawks could be the team to take the coveted 4 in a row from Collingwood (the only record they have left)? If Hawks win 3 straight, expect Ed to come out again bleating about equalization to ensure they are nowhere near top 4 come 2016.

I expect Ryder and Monfries rice rubbed out for the year, heavily denting ports chances.

My thoughts on ladder position at the end of the season:

I think the top 2 will be clear from early on, then the next 8 will be pretty close to each other, with the last 2 unlucky to miss the 8. After that it drops away pretty quickly.

1. Port Adelaide - Hate to admit it, but they're good, bloody good and almost knocked off the premiers in the Prelim. Ryder is a very good addition, provides much needed 2nd fiddle for Schultz up forward, along with giving Lobbe a chop out in the ruck, whilst allowing Westhoff to play his natural floating half forward role. Watch out.
2. Hawthorn - Will be right up there again. Have once again used free agency/trading to its fullest. Frawley settles there defense even further and O'Rourke should start to push for genuine AFL game time.
3. Sydney - Will be up there again, too many gun names there and too good of a football team at the moment to drop down any further.
4. Gold Coast - Reckon the addition of Rodney Eade will be massive for them. The players are starting to mature and needs someone who understands how to make them into a top 4 force.
5. North Melbourne - Are going hard for a premiership with additions of Cooney, Waite and Higgins and I suspect they'll be up there again. Just not sure they can quite take the next step.
6. Adelaide - I think we'll start to see some more consistent team footy under Walsh. I doubt we'll be genuinely pushing for top 4 as yet, but hopefully we'll more of a football team, as opposed to football side of 22 players.
7. Fremantle - I think they've missed their shot. The midfield is still powerful, however its the bookend that will increasingly let them down.
8. Richmond - Will scrape into the 8 again, but only just and I doubt they'll actually make anything of it like usual.
------
9. Geelong - I think the time has finally come, will have a few big scalps, but I think we've been increasingly see signs of their consistency faultering.
10. Essendon - Depends on the result of the ASADA review, if they come out okay, they'll remain a tough side to beat, not sure they've got what it takes to go further though.
11. West Coast - I think they're stuck in a bit of a rut and am unsure they'll get out of it, not a horrible side, but need something and I'm not sure Adam Simpson is the one to do it.
12. Brisbane - I think we'll start to see a resurgence, Beams and Christenson are a great pick up, their midfield will be a force, its just whether they can put the whole thing together.
13. GWS - Will start their slow climb up the ladder, Griffen is a massive addition in terms of class, immediate performance and leadership.
14. Collingwood - Sliding, still some class over the ground, but I don't think alls fine and dandy under Buckley
15. Melbourne - It will be a long road back, even with Roos.
16. Western Bulldogs - Have well and truly resumed their role of cellar dwellar
17. Carlton - Malthouse is on skating on very thin ice, I think Carlton are regretting their decision and just don't think there'll be the belief to form a decent football team.
18. St Kilda - Well and truly in rebuild mode, don't expect much from them for a while.

Cooney has gone to essendon not North Melbourne.

Story of Dangers life. He should request a trade to West Coast or Melboure, you know a team with a shit midfield and he would win the Brownlow every year.

No one other than Gary Ablett will win the Brownlow unless he's injured.

I must admit though, I was quite surprised at Danger's polling last year considering his season was pretty average as a whole. The umpires like.

Umpires have always had their pets.

Ablett head of class, but danger not far behind.

Hmm think he may get a bit more heavy checking that goes unrewarded compared to Gazza. Gazza just needs to put his arms up in the air and the whistle blows. The umpires do obviously notice him as his polling was higher than expected this year. Sloane should have polled better.

That Priddis could prove to be a thorn in his side.
