I didn't bank on the Cats beating the swans. this really means we will probably have to win 13 games now...argh! Unless Geelong and North drop some games.
North finish off with Freo, Richmond and the Bulldogs. lets hope they drop all 3! then we will only need 2 more wins.

How big is that West coast game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Yeah I just did the predictor myself and we have to win the next two and one out of West Coast and Geelong. Otherwise we finish 9th..

Thought I'd give this a crack

1. Hawthorn - Will look to 3-peat this year
2. North Melbourne - Think these guys will do really well, strong list and prime experience. This is their time.
3. Sydney - Don't rate them as highly as others, but there's no doubting they have an excellent list
4. Port Adelaide - Vulnerable to injuries, but their best team is strong. Expect them to win a lot of games.
5. Fremantle - If Sandilands, Pavlich and McPharlin can stay on the park for the majority of the season, they'll resist the slide for one more season
6. Gold Coast - Should make the eight this year with increased experience and the return of Ablett
7. Adelaide - Walsh should get the best out of our players and without major injuries we'll make the eight
8. Richmond - Like their top tier players but not quite ready for a push into the top 4. Form might fluctuate throughout the season.
9. Essendon - With their full squad available, they're not bad. Will challenge for spots 7-8 but I can see ASADA/depth being an issue
10. Geelong - As with Essendon, I expect them to challenge for spots 7-8. Yes, I do see them sliding as other teams progress ahead.
11. Brisbane - Awesome midfield, which I think will help compensate for weakness in KPP spots.
12. GWS - Will win a lot more games than last year, but not quite good enough to challenge for the 8
13. Western Bulldogs - Will be vulnerable to teams in the 8, but I see them as flat track bullies
14. West Coast - Just aren't good enough, and injuries have hurt them. Not read to challenge for the 8.
15. Melbourne - Can't seem them winning too many early on, but form will pick up over the season
16. Collingwood - Having lost so many key players over the last few years, don't rate them highly at all. Now rebuilding for sure.
17. Carlton - Don't rate their list at all, rubbish in nearly all areas. Top talent seems weak and unable of progressing to the next level
18. St Kilda - Clearly the worst team with a list well in the rebuilding phase. Will get pummeled in most games and will struggle to win a match.

I can see four clear bands of teams: 1-4 (challenging for flag), 5-10 (any of these teams could make/not make the 8), 11-14 (not quite good enough), and 15-18 (rebuilding)

Bolters: Gold Coast (+6), North Melbourne (+4), GWS (+4), Brisbane (+4)
Sliders: Geelong (-7), Collingwood (-5), West Coast (-5)

Well this didn't go as well as I'd planned.

Rated Port Adelaide, Gold Coast, Essendon and Brisbane too high. Rated West Coast, Western Bulldogs, Collingwood and St Kilda too low.

However I accurately predicted the premier, our ladder position (at the end of the home & away season), Geelong's slide out of the eight, Carlton's shit season, and the rough positions of North, Richmond, GWS, Melbourne and Fremantle.

Looking back, there are a few good predictions in this thread plus some shockers. I don't recall posting a full ladder, but I did say we'd finish 6th-9th. I was most confident that we'd finish 8th. I got sucked into the positive Pear outlook, and well done to those who predicted they'd struggle.
