Hey guys thoughts on my team?

B: Smith - Newnes - Kolodjashnij - Sheppard - Geary - Smedts (Z.Jones - Dick)
C: Ablett - Beams - J.Kennedy - Treloar - Rich - Newton - Freeman - Cripps (Ellis- Yoleman - Vandenberg)
R: Mumford - Leuenberger (Nankervis - Holmes)
F: Bartel - Martin - Gray - Swan - Hogan - Honeychurch (Clark - Byrne)

I still have 155k remaining, Thankyou.

TEAM: Freeman's Foxtrotters
CASH AVAILABLE: $194,000

Hoping this will be my final team. Recently upgraded Lumumba to Hodge because I felt I was one gun short in the back half.

BACKS: Luke Hodge ~ Brodie Smith ~ Jack Newnes ~ Kade Kolodjashnij ~ Jarryn Geary ~ Nathan Brown
RES: Zak Jones ~ Adam Saad

Wasn't comfortable with only two premiums and had cash to splash so I decided to upgrade to Hodge by trading Lumumba. I still think at around 400k Lumumba is great value, especially if he plays off a wing.

It's risky starting with defensive specialist Brown who won't score big but he is a reliable selection week in, week out (injury pending). By all reports Adam Saad is getting close to a senior elevation and the Suns have 2 senior spots to fill. Basically Greg Broughton and him are the main contenders for an upgrade and like Lambert and vandenBerg in the midfield is cheap as chips.

The back line depends a lot on the big three scoring highly but KK is tipped to improve his average and i'm backing Geary who has already put up some sizable totals in the NAB Challenge.

MIDS: Gary Ablett (C) ~ Luke Parker (V/C) ~ Adam Treloar ~ Lachie Neale ~ Nathan Van Berlo ~ Daniel Rich ~ Ben Newton ~ Nathan Freeman
RES: Aaron vandenBerg ~ Kane Lambert

Lock and load 3 premiums for me. Neale is pricey after a break out season in 2014 but if his game at Drummoyne is anything to go on he won't be posting an average lower than 2014.

Van Berlo and Rich are popular midfield cash cows, Newton I wouldn't say is a best 22 lock and his scores could be sub affected but as a 7th mid I'm happy with him there, same goes for Freeman.

vandenBerg and Lambert are both due for upgrades before Round 1. Ball magnets are NEAFL and VFL level. Will transition into the AFL environment easily.

RUCKS: Sam Jacobs ~ Tom Bellchambers
RES: Rory Lobb ~ Jon Griffin

I've questioned the motive a number of times throughout the past few weeks but gone with a set and forget ruck in Jacobs. Arguably the best ruck in the comp and the best ruck option fantasy wise in 2015 IMO. As good as Stefan Martin was in 2014 he will have a fit Leuenberger to contend with again.

Bellchambers is cheap and will probably lead the Essendon ruck. Proven point scorer when rucking solo. A fit again Kruezer will probabaly work his way in once Bellchambers price goes up.

Lobb and Griffin are handy insurance especially Griffin. Arguably the next ruckman in line at Fremantle and I'm not on the Zac Clarke as a second ruck bandwagon at the moment. Griff's a round 1 chance and someone needs to be a ruck replacement for Giles at GWS. Will it be Lobb?

FWDS: Dustin Martin ~ Brendon Goddard ~ Dane Swan ~ Jack Martin ~ Christian Salem ~ Mitch Clark
RES: Jesse Hogan ~ Nathan Krakouer

Got my set and forget targets in D. Martin, Goddard and Swan. Making the most of Salem before his price increases and potentially becomes a FWD/ DEF. Clark's a popular choice and I think will be a big scorer at the Cats. Rucking maybe but as a forward he will have a bigger impact.

Hogan's my set and forget emergency and Krakouer is arguably first in line for an upgrade when one comes up.

Giles and Neale
or
Mumford and Freeman?

Mumford and Neale would be ideal :D. Otherwise I think you'd have to go Mumford and Freeman.

Not sure whether Giles will be a regular player, Essendon have rarely taken two big rucks in before and have Carlisle and Daniher in the forward line as well who are both 200 cm +.

I think your one premium short down back. Smedts as an on field players as well is a risky move as I think he will have vest affected scores. Maybe trade out Dick for another cheap defender who will play regularly and use Smedts as a reserve.

I like the Sheppard pick. The LTI to Mackenzie, shorter term injury to Ellis and retirement of Beau Waters opens up a spot for him off HB.

Midfield I think you can downgrade on JKP or Treloar and use that money to get an extra premium back. Otherwise the rest are pretty safe picks. Ellis Yolmen is a good P.O.D. who has had a good pre season. Screams of sub affected scores to me but.

Going a premium ruck is a smart move. Consider Mumford as set and forget. Leunberger I'm not certain on and I'm not convinced with Nankervis or Holmes yet either. Try and trade out Leuenberger for another ruck and cosnider Freo's Griffin as a reserve.

Foward line I wouldn't bother tinkering with much. Trade out Byrne for sure but. Not sure if this was a few bevvies on St. Paddy's day affected pick or not but his well behind the pack in terms of Carlton forwards. If you want a Carlton Irishman look at Sheehan as a reserve defender.

My R1 22 would be:

FB: Jonas Carlisle Broadbent
HB: Pittard Trengove Hombsch
C: Polec Wines Hartlett
HF: R.Gray Westhoff White
FF: Neade Schulz Wingard

R: Lobbe Boak Ebert
I/C: Impey Young Cornes O'Shea

Cant see Monfries or Ryder being available and Wingard is touch and go.

Impey/O'Shea can slot into defensive roles releasing Broadbent to midfield rotations. Polec/Broadbent and Hartlett delivering balls into the F50 is scary good!

This is a port fans recent predicted round 1 team that Amon plays for.

This side doesnt even include Monfries or Ryder and hes not in that 22 so probably not in the 24 i think he might be closer than that and could be an excellent sub option although that isnt great for Fantasy either.

Made some adjustments to my team

B: Simpson - Newnes - Smith - Sheppard - Geary - Z.Jones (Saad - Clurey)
C: Ablett - Beams - Treloar - Parker - Neale - O'Rourke - Newton - Cripps (Amon - Vandenberg)
R: Mumford - Leuenberger (Griffin - Nankervis)
F: Martin - Gray - Swan - T.Mitchell - Lennon - Clark (Lambert - Byrne)

Could Downgrade O'Rourke and Mumford for players like Nic Nat and Freeman/Anderson
Also have 12k remaining, Thanks.

Z.Jones will not play at the start for the Swans (He is not in many peoples best 22. There is a bigger chance of Titchell/Heeney/Laidler/Robinson/Towers.... taking malceski's spot in the team rather then Jones at this stage). You will need a better D8 as I dont know about Saad or Clurey either.

I would just be keeping your eye out for this weeks teams, and round one team announcements as your bench appears fairly weak.

Apart from that you have some unique players and you should trust your judgement.

Seeing quite a lot of teams with Treloar, Parker and/or Neale in there. Risky plays if you have two or more, there's the obvious reward but they aren't out and out certainties here. That'll take balls

I see a lot of teams going the Beams route, every fiber in my being is telling me to avoid. Isn't in a stacked midfield anymore, Midfield consists of Beams and Rockliff as the ones to tag now. And if I was an opposition coach, i'd tag Beams as Rockliff has shown he can dodge a tag.
Redden and hanley above rockliff in the tagging order imo, as well as now beams yes. Throw rich in the mix as well. Rocky not damaging with the ball in hand as much, massive accumulator. Usually misses the tag apart from targeted circumstances (e.g. Sam Mitchell early last year if I remember correctly). Steering clear of beams as well though, not sure how that'll affect his output. Early midfield upgrade target if it stays similar.

Jordan Lewis with a huge 143 last night! Had an awesome season last year and is showing no signs of slowing down. Could even go bigger! If he ain't atleast on your radar your crazy. M2 lock for me!!!

No way, I will always pick one its just made it tougher.

Need to watch the lions replay.
i was gonna say haha

I was there last night, wet ball, messy possession. no real consistent chains of possession, especially in the first half. means not much cheap possession which is half of Rockys ball, sat in the goal square for parts too. wouldnt read too much into last nights score

might be hard to pick, but the question remains are you really willing to start the season without one of them

From last years form and the pre-season, I think that Lewis has the ability to have the C. I think that is the way I am leaning. Gablett has been out for so long and Rocky's price is to high for my liking. Though I am tinkering with the team

Lewis? thats very ballsy, showing okay signs but only had the one real standout season. would not call him a super premo atm by any stretch. are you thinking youll go in without both rocky and gaz?
