We all gave you plenty of heads up on the Bont, too ;)

That never would have worked for me. I'll never take second year players unless they are close to rookie price.

Nothing short of every other option ending up on the LTI list would have seen Bonts in my starting team.

Awaiting for this thread to be inundated with Bontempelli related rage after he only scores a 70 against the premiers who will be hurting for losing to team thymosins.

With a BE of -21 70 will still net a nice price rise

I'll be surprised if he doesn't attract some more attention in the next few weeks though, allowing the people who haven't got him to get him down the track at a reasonable price. If he does score well against these better teams I'm happy to bite the bullet and get him in earlier.

As much as I'm a semi-regular contributor to this thread with some of my own spudly choices, this is by far my favourite SuperCoach related thread to read. So many people venting and raging about stuff that were clearly the obvious choice but just haven't worked for some reason or another. Just deal with it guys.

And then there's the genuine lols of picks that not even I would do as a second year player, although admittedly I was taught a very harsh SC lesson in my first year about certain players.

Hawthorn, Adelaide, Sydney and Freo in 4 of their next 5, if he can average 95+ against those teams I'll pay the premium and get him in.

If you're getting him its as a forward premium for the rest of the season and not for price rises.

Yeah my point is that even if he doesn't score as well this week, its only going to get harder to bring him in as his price will rise at least 100K before he starts to slow down.

That being said, he could get absolutely toweled up against Hawthorn and Adelaide and find himself a high BE to chase in a couple weeks time.

Agree that his next 4/5 games are super tough. His scoring could easily drop big time.

The opposite thing could happen just as easily, maybe not scoring as he is now, but good enough to keep rising in price, and picking up handy points as a forward.

These early calls on our squads, do ACTUALLY, make or break our season. ( not just the Bont call, but there will be a few more early gut calls b4 the seasons done )

Most of those not taking him this week will more than likely have no intention on taking him at all.

Got on Zorko last year after between round 2 and 3, after scores of 121 and 161.

Didn't want to miss the price rise.

Burnt me BIG TIME.

Not suggesting that Bont will do the same. But he certainly could. Often not trading to the hyped up player is better for your team than trading for them. Don't follow the pack.

This not a regret but definitely a vent.
I've had THE BoNT since day 1 and he was my ace up the sleeve, POD player that was going to take me to the Supercoach promised land.
Now it seems every man, dog and that ole chest nut 'my wife's account' is trading him in.
To all the plebs out there who are jumping on THE BoNT bandwagon after a couple of rounds well to you all I say GET STUFFED!!!

Bont was hardly a pod. owned by 25% at the start of the season.

Dion prestia on the other hand is a pod. owned by just 1%

Only reason im not getting him is I want Fyfe, and cant have them both without trading out someone who doesn't deserve it.

My 1st regret for the year. Leuenberger! 96, 23, then dropped. :rainbow:

I can cop Savage and Newnes scoring 70 in the wet in a 10 goal loss, it happens. At least out wasn't 40 like Hibberd well get tomorrow.

Didn't think my team was too bad, only 2 trades made. Sitting 42k and no Swan will hurt this round.

Current team
B: Hibberd, Kelly, Newnes, Savage, Saad, Oxley (KMac, N.Brown)

M: Fyfe, Treloar, Parker, Beams, Griffen, CEY, Heeney VBerg (Cripps, Miller, Anderson)

R: Goldy. Mummy (Read)

F: Gray, Martin, Bartel, TBC, Salem, Hogan (Clark, Lonie)

I blame everyone but me.
