Jade, get in here for important discussions. Also, if you already planned to do this and was waiting for the right time, I'm sorry?

With Loonerty hinting at making a couple of trips, and my own thinking of doing the same, I think we should get a tanked fixture written up for 2015.

So what do ya reckon?

Post from April 14, 2015:

Ok ladies and gents, we have four dates for Tanked this year that we'll open up unique threads for when the days get closer (which gives me time to think of clever-ish names).

Details as follows:

Tanked XV: Round 6 v Fremantle, 4pm Saturday 9th May, Location TBD - tentatively titling this 'Invasion of the Gumby Snatchers' (what, come at me). Location TBD because we've never done a Tanked here with an interstate game on. I'm actually open to suggestions an a venue.

Tanked XVI: Round 10 v Geelong, 3pm Saturday 6th June, Platform 28 - We've done Tanked at Platform 28 before. Nice place, reasonable selection of beers and not ridiculously expensive, plus they have the other days games on the TVs.

Tanked XVII: 'I was saying boo-urns!': Round 17 v Port Adelaide, 3pm Saturday 25th July, Platform 28 - Yeah I'm pretty sold on the title, though by all means if you have another idea....

Tanked XVIII: Round 22 v Richmond, 3pm Saturday 29th August, The London Tavern - last home game of the year, and a fitting locale considering our first was held here.

Details are obviously very subject to change, so keep your eyes peeled for the unique threads for each one.

Trying to find a spot where I can come down for one week and hit a couple of home games as well as not miss any uni is tough.
Sucks that neither game either side of ANZAC Day is a home game, and I was hoping to go to the Man City vs. Real Madrid match which has a home game the following night (v Port on the 25th July).

I think definitely that weekend I'll be down there, but I have no idea what other times.

I was talking to some people from the Geelong board, and they expressed some interest in having a joint drinks prior to our game against them next season.

Which is Round 10. Shell, get in here.

What? Fraternising with the enemy? Shame, shame, shame.... :D

You know exactly where you are.

Now, go on, tell everyone of your grand plan to unite the two boards prior to the game next year. :)

I think if we can pull off a (admittedly somewhat impromptu) meet up with North folk with aplomb, which we did, then we can do just fine with Geelong types.

They might even get that colourful mayor of theirs to come along.

Ah yes, hai Bombers people.

A few of us regular Geelong people meet up before the game- at Etihad our usual choice is Nixon, but if you guys wanna meet up somewhere else am flexible with that. Prob best to book a table.

How many do you usually get at these things?

PS. Promise to keep the drug refs to an absolute minimum on the night. :hearts: Go Bombers.

I have always gotten the worse end of the deal, promise. Lived out Essendon way all my life, been a Geelong supporter all my life, began in 1993 actually!!!!

Our typical number would be between 8 and 15. I reckon we got close to 20 once.

I'd be happy enough with the Nixon for that, I'd think.

Holy cow. So we book a table for 25ppl+ at Nixon??!?!? We'll have to eat dinner in shifts lol, I dont think they'll be able to give us a table that big. :D

Our typical number would be 5-8 max. Biggest 10+ that was the Freo game at KP last year. Which I missed due to flu. :(

If you tell them a big group is coming and book far enough in advance, they can always combine tables I would think.

Or just have two tables next to one another and we flit between them and socialise.

Booourns at changing the tag to meet-up, this is clearly a strategy thread :P

One more thing, is the VFL fixture for 2015 out/due to be out soon? wouldnt mind trying to tee up some VFL to AFL action if possible

OK so the Cats game is a lock for a tanked meeting. What other games look like standouts?
Carltank? (albeit early in the year)
Ninthmond?
Port?

Excellent. No rushing from work.
It's a novel feeling for me. I haven't been able to make an Essendon v Geelong game for years and that's solely because it's been a Friday for the past three years.

Hey, the AFL put our opening match on a friggin Thursday night at KP this season. First time I've ever missed an opening round in years. RIP Fixture 2014 and may we never speak of it again. Was ****ing horseshit.

I think anything for Saturday or Saturday night games is the preference for most.

The VFL fixture comes out in the next few days, apparently.

wasn't there suggestions of trying the Munich for etihad games next year, they'd have no problems with the numbers
After Saturday night, I can report that the Munich is a top notch place...
