Carlisle - out of contract, desperate to get out of there, patchy form, not worth pick 5, at best 25 with a low level sweetener.
Freeman - out of contract, desperate to get out of there, no exposed form, not worth pick 5, not worth 25 without something coming back to us, realistically worth about 43 or whatever our 3rd rounder is.

In both cases the salary we're offering is negated by them being out of contract. We're offering overs to encourage them to nominate us so we can bend their respective teams over a barrel.

He was pick 10 if I recall correctly. It's more a case of Freeman not being happy with the Filth over how his injury was managed or rather mismanaged, or so I've been told (not by anyone in the know. Just by a supporter of the filth) Plus I guess he also sees more opportunity at the Saints. I'm really happy as I reckon he's a great pick up.
