No major surprrise that the Hawks are in, if he’s after the glory then fair enough.

Would MUCH rather use pick 5 in the draft and let Carlisle go elsewhere, that stance hasn’t changed. We have a lot of rebuilding yet to do.

If we get him at a price that suits us - good. If not, who cares, Essendon are the team that are losing him, not us!

I'm definitely of the opinion that they are trying to scare us.. I hope Ameet holds firm, Carlisle is not worth pick 5, end of story. Would be nice to get him but not at the cost of our future.

I think it is time to just go the PSD route. Stuff all this nonsense.

If we are getting him for free from a pick perspective, let's throw a bit more coin at him front loaded to destroy any other bids. Jakey likes money, it is time to show him even more money and have him agree not to go anywhere else. If we can get him to agree to this, we either land him without using any picks or we except that somebody else gets him but has to pay a truckload of cash to do it. Bearing in mind we have more cap than everybody else, it is going to put another team in a tough spot list management wise.

Carlisle will still end up at St Kilda, Hawthorn don't have the room to do anything.

I guess the point is , he can play for the Hawks , just because they are the Hawks, and go for a fourpeat ( which is no stupider word than threepeat ) or come to StKilda an get a bit more cash and be part of what's happening under Richo.

Conversely, if the rumour is true and he stares Clarkson down, then that will be a massive endorsement of his character and of his desire to join our mighty club.
