Just heard from a usually reliable source that curnow will go pick 2 to Brisbane, does this open the door for parish? Gold Coast take francis and essendon take schache? Perhaps other way around but I think if this mail is solid we'd be a better chance to get parish. Forgive me if no one cares in the wake of the Carlisle fiasco.

My take on this is that it was fairly obvious that St Kilda weren't Jake's first preference. It would have been great to get Carlisle, and we still might, however I started having doubts when the points about 'midfielders win you flags' were being raised.

If Carlisle comes to our club then that's great, but I'd be equally happy to use #5 for a gun midfielder, or swap for two early-ish picks and pick up a couple of young stars.

This whole deal from the start had real stench about it .He never seemed to have any passion about coming to us , his manager was ruthless in clubs bidding aginst our offer which wewas what they asked for from day 1 .
If he goes ,and I think he wil,l he is not the type of guy we want with our young kids .I just hope now that we move on really quickly and perhaps land someone else with afew morals and wants to pay for the jumper not just the money .

This is to me the oddest part of the muted deal.

Hawks have a lot of old players. If they are going to win it, it is the next year or two.

Strengthening the Hawks is just absoluting moronic for the Kangas, and moreso as they havea forward line with several very tall options that Carlisle can stop.

If North facilitate it they have just cut their own throats.
