Im here with the squids. Sounds like full training and kid signing etc is once training has finished
My training report will be in parts:

I think Neale has tumours in his calves. Thats not normal. He should see the club doctor or get an outside opinion

Kids pissing me off. We're leaving. Gotta give them credit, they sat still for 7 minutes

You mean you didn't bring their iPad??
What the hell type of parent are you?
The hands on kind?!?

Did get the request to use my phone for plants v zombies. Probably shouldn't have bought them a fanta
There is your mistake.

I intend to come down next week with the lad. Will have a hot chocolate to keep him still and a promise of ice cream after if he's good. I also have angry birds on the phone for emergencies.

Will main training be on Thursday next week for a Saturday game?

As far as I could tell today, Weller was training with the main squad with the forwards! Sheridan with the WAFL squad. Can anyone confirm?

We definitely need confirmation of this! I have a feeling we'll fly him over as a travelling emergency but would be rapt if he indeed debuted.

Would be good for the Tasmanians if Weller joined A. Pearce in the team. I wonder if they could sneak in Grey as an emergency as well?

He's lightning quick! Just what we need on the counter punch.
Agreed! Can't get too excited yet tho. Could be RTB throwing Clarko a few curve balls during open training if it actually was Weller training up there at all.
It'd be a huge ask of Weller to come in against the Hawks but it would be bloody exciting!

From what I have read, Weller has had a few quite good games for Peel, but has not really been carving them up as such. Is he ready physically for a big mature team like Hawthorn?
Depends on what role RTB may have in mind for him I guess. If Hill is tagged out or moved to HB potentially Weller could get loose on the wing. We have seen the damage Jetta has done to them in the past and exploiting them on the outside is something we did to them last year.

Remember Lachie Neale playing a game in Tassie vs Hawks early in his career and although we lost he kicked a great goal which made me think we had found a little gem. I hope Weller gets an opportunity.

He has been copping a fair bit of attention from the opposition most games. Good skills, line breaking speed would be great to come on half way through the 3rd when the heat is out of the game.

If I recall correctly, hasn't Weller been moving across half back before being thrown back into the middle?

Wouldn't be surprised if he is a travelling emergency, I know we used to like flying young interstate boys back home....Duffy, Croz and Tabaner played in the win against Hawks last year, so playing young men against the Hawks isn't unheard of.

I know it's a completely different level but Weller might enjoy being the 22nd dangerous player according to Hawks and have a lot less attention compared to WAFL.

Also they should have trained early this morning. Around 1°C in parts of Perth....probably 4°C in Freo! Given that Antarctica will only reach 12°C it'd be good match conditioning.

Tanner Smith played a game in Tassie v Hawks as well from memory, think because Luke had lingering effects of concussion from the prior week.

Correct - he got towled up in that game by his opponent, but it gave him a taste.

I like the idea of exposing weller to hawthorn for his first AFL match - it will show him the expected standard of performance at AFL level more than anything else. Given his considerable potential, this is the standard of play he should be aspiring too, not that crap that still gets served up by Peel on occasion.
