Not sure what you are on - people like his toughness and direct action at the ball. It is generally accepte dthat he fluffs a few kicks and he is forgiven. I personally see him as a reach at 12. The majority of options posters put forward at 12 seem to be very WA centric. I am a Berry man with a Taranto back up. There will be someone very good at 12 so fear not.
What are you on ? I'm not talking about SPP

I remember watching Crabb play high school footy. I was about five years younger than him but he was only the third best player in the team. It was astonishing that he went so high.

Hah that's funny eh. I also
know a guy that went to school with Jeremy McGovern and he pretty much said the same thing. Only in this case the guy that owned jezza apparently experienced an accident causing him to become paralysed and I think Jeremy was also a bit slower to develop. Still it's sad for the other bloke that he's stuck in a bed while somebody who appeared less talented is now an AFL star.

I never watched either of them in Albany, however at Colts it was apparent that both had talent.

Proudlove was certainly a talent that caught the eye. He may well have had Gov covered whilst they were at school in Albany but at Colts level it was already obvious that Gov has a special set of skills and dominated the air, either in the ruck or in contested marking. I remember specifically one game( a final ) down at East Fremantle where Gov absolutely dominated one highly touted Tyler Chalwell.

Govs mark on the 1/4 time siren and his 60 meter bomb that sailed through the goals half way up the posts was a sign of things to come.

sometimes I think the club over thinks or drafts on potential rather than exposed form or the obvious choice .

examples

weedon over Duncan

lamb over Blakley/mcgovern

not picking up menagola

Not that I don't agree, I can totally see us picking up English (though I do have faith that the club knows better and will hopefully pick up a gun mid). However, people calling the lamb selection a failure are just saying that in hindsight. When we originally got him 99% of us were over the moon. He was deemed to be worth around pick 15 and we got him for 31 if I recall correctly. Everyone on here said Blakey was vanilla and little gov would have been a massive reach at 31.

I'm still happy with the Lamb pick.

Surely we haven't written him off yet ?

No I'm still fine with it, it's definitely still early days and he just needs some help mentally. All I'm saying is that people can usually find better options with hindsight. 2014 was a very good draft for us. Things just didn't work out as hoped...

You would hope not !

I certainly haven't and look forward to Tommy having a big preseason and making an impact at EP and therefore putting pressure on the match Committee to include him in the Seniors.
Pressure to hold your spot in the Seniors that comes from the up and comers at the level below is what generates list development.
Internal squad pressure is always a good thing.

How do you get a 10.1 beep test after a full footy season?

That's shocking.

Not sure if answered yet as I'm trying to catch up but I could tell his fitness was down in WAFL GF when he's legs were gone after halftime and he was cramping. Up and getting rub downs but was struggling to keep up ..

Will probably slide a fair bit IMO

Can't kick in a big way IMO.

I dunno, I just see almost no potential in Lamb. I think too often people mistake athleticism for potential. Can't see him becoming a good footballer at all.

I would love to see Lamb challenge Sheppard off the half back flank. Yes - the media headline would be great but jokes aside, he played on the HBF for in the U18 and showed good judgement defensively and an ability to run forward.

I think we need to find Lamb a position that he can develop and make his own at EP and will then tee him up to do it at senior level. The defensive side might make him more accountable and then build his confidence to start matching his potential.

You don't kick 3-4 goals in a game on several occasions if your a shit footballer and have no talent.

IMO opinion Lamb has concentration issues and the best way to address this is to play him as a defender. Take care of your man and win the one on one duels and then back your talent to take the game on and run off your man.
Then the automatic re set as a defender back on to your man.
As a defender your constantly engaged in the task at hand and the concentration part come a lot easier .
At Lambs size and his athletic ability he can defend both talls and smalls so there are plenty of opportunities to find match ups for him defending in a game. Hell with his elite tank he could also play negating run with roles.

He has talent be he needs better development and tutelage .

That's Simpsons challenge , it's what he is paid to oversee.
