Saw the HUN headline and thought sad thoughts.

Looked at the fixture and saw top 2 at best, 3rd at worst.

WTF is tough about our draw?

I don't get it. The AFL website is going with us with the second worst draw. What? OK we get Hawthorn twice, but St.Kilda, Sydney, Adelaide and the Dogs is as good as you can expect for a Top 6 side. 5 Friday nights, Boomer's record probably in Melbourne, a good run of winnable games early in the year. Aside from only one game at the G, this fixture is pretty good!

Our record at the MCG is okay. Our record in SA, NSW ( v Sydney), WA is average so to play only 3 games at those venues is a bonus.

Still have to win them but the majority are on paper at this point in time winnable.

I just read the AFL "simple" ratings and they can be ignored. They count the wins of your 2016 opponents in 2015 and tally them. Highest is hardest. That was probably more effort than what Robbo put in.

Top 2, pen it in!

Brilliant draw. Excessive 6 days breaks a bit of a bummer but it is a minor negative.

Don't give a **** what the media thinks.
You get 6 day breaks if you play Friday night games:D

Who are the successive 6 day breaks against?
And in which games are we playing sides who are coming off a 6 day break.

Also who do we play the week after our interstate games.

Who are the successive 6 day breaks against?

Unless my sums are up the creek again, almost every side playing on a Friday night is coming off a 6 day break. You can't want Friday nights and not want 6 day breaks.

As usual, sloppy coverage by all and sundry. Just add up the 2015 wins of the teams you play against. Count how many finalists you play twice. Count the 6 day breaks. Give a ranking. Make a ladder. Assign a "winner." Bullshit.

What about consecutive travel? What about teams you have a good record against (North may be happy not to play Collingwood or Gold Coast twice, but quite disappointed not to get Richmond twice)? What about when you play sides? (Playing Collingwood in the second half of the year has recently been an advantage as is playing North early in the year) What about consecutive tough games? (Playing 6 finalists in 8 weeks may be OK if the pressure can be relieved with easier games every 2 or three weeks. But playing 6 in a row builds pressure than can make the easier games tougher).

The fact is the fixture is too complex for nearly anyone employed in today's football media to analyse accurately and even if someone can be bothered they're basically only guessing anyway.

Just caught up with the fixture good result for us. Most in here are happy so that's great..

8 six day breaks abit over the top ouch!

In a non corrupt AFL world it should be fair for everyone every year and this hard/easy draw thing shoud'nt even be a topic. This 2/2/1 draw were u play 2 from the top twice etc depending on where u finish is the biggest load of crap i'v ever heard. It can be manipulated by the AFL however they want to suit there needs but that's just me....

I like the splits. You can't have the Hawks playing ess, bris, blues, dees and saints twice in a year. Too many floggings.

Fixture's always been manipulated.

All of what you have said including the above is right. It's a great fixture for us. The double ups we'd rate ourselves in, the away travel for tough games for this team are restricted and from an exposure point of view it is a great fixture. Good thing too, would have been embarrassing for the AFL if the Premier was barely played on primetime TV.
