If you saw Mason Shaw play you wouldnt be putting his name up. I saw him play against Swans and South a couple of weeks ago and for a guy who was in the system at Port for 3 years albeit he had injury interrupted years he doesn't look or play like a AFL prospect. We would be far better considering getting Tim English to develop as Sandi's replacement in a couple of years. By the way in todays game Peel v Claremont Sam Collins totally shut Cameron out of the game.
That's an incredibly short time for a footballer. Minus his injuries as well.To be fair to Mason Shaw, with this year in the WAFL and the three at Port it makes only about 7 years of him playing footy, he only started in U15s.

*I hope you don't mind me formatting the post - Taylz
He must of been a rake as he doesn't look that big nowHe was lumped with an extra 20kg over two years when he first joined Port too, so the learning curve was really steep. Trying to learn the game and now learning his new body too. Tough gig.

Yeah he was 82kg on his draft profile: http://www.boundforglorynews.com.au/2012-afl-phantom-draft/
Footywire has him at 92kg in 2015: http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/pp-port-adelaide-power--mason-shaw
And WAFL has him at 94kg now. Still looks more gangling than anything, much like Alex Pearce.
However I am fairly certain I recall that Port played him in defence for a season down in the 2s, trying to turn him into a KPD. In addition to the OP.
Langdon re-signing still means 9 more to go.
So am I reading it right that you calculate that we could be positioning to make between 11 and 14 changes to the list?3 rookies delisted
1 main list gone.
Likelihood of 1 contracted player (Ballantyne) leaving. Possibility of another contracted player being paid out.
Of the 9 remaining, I would expect a minimum of 5 to leave and a maximum of 8.

Um. Maybe a minimum of 4 to leave from the uncontracted list...but I think it will be at least 5.
Between 9 and 14 changes, yes. 3 rookie list players and 6-11 main list. (The contracted player was a maybe - think there are two obvious candidates)
I would prefer a lower number, with the same number of changes next year. Then we don't have to draft too many late picks this year. That would mean resigning up to five out-of-contract players by the end of the trading period.
)I'm probably in the less popular camp here but I don't see why the club would sign Silvagni. Collins and Pearce will be our starting two defenders next year if we don't sign someone via trade period (which would put Silvagni back further in the queue). If the club is taking the rebuild seriously I don't think carrying two depth KPDs who are 28+ is needed. So out of him and Dawson and Dawson has the contract for next season. He's been a good servant but in a rebuild you don't keep many depth players who are older than 25.Alex Silvagni is being hunted by Brisbane . We have not offered him a contract yet .I think we are crazy not to have him signed up for next year at least . Talk is Brisbane are prepared to give him a 2/ 3 year deal.
Zac Dawson is best 22 but age is against him ,Johnson same. Alex is coming back from a broken leg . Collins fit and firing ,our only serious back up with experience Ibbo .We need Silver to play until Alex proves he is ready .I'm probably in the less popular camp here but I don't see why the club would sign Silvagni.
