Interesting article by hammo where he has talked to Swann. Only mentions Ainsworth and mccluggage, with mccluggage the preference if forced to choose.

Unlikely; we'll have neither in two years time once McCluggage returns home and Ainsworth is forever lost.
Different set up and structure. Hard to make a call on that yet. Let's see what happens with this lot. Seem to be doing ok with the rest of Aish's draft mates.

Gee - some Judd like attributes at 2:25 minute mark :)

3 efforts in the contest followed by an intercept, quick shimmy and straight through from 45m :thumbsu:

Go to bed Dylan.

Not really keen on Galluci or Graham imo.

Getting nervous all of Witherden, Berry, Simpkin and Florent will be gone before our pick 16.

If English does slide as a lot of draft watchers are now suggesting they probably will be.

Gallucci adds the run we need and is versatile. Constant talk of Graham worries me although I think the phantoms are just following the leader on him.

Chances are the draft will be pretty fluid. Most people seem to have a similar picture of how things will play out, but there's definitely the potential for everything to be turned upside down by one unexpected selection/bid not being matched. Still, I'm sure our recruiters have a definite idea re: who they'll target with our later picks. This re: Venables in the Quayle article is probably important: "The Lions are fans". So don't be too surprised if we pick him, I'd say.

Emma Quayle has Isaac Cumming going at 10. he got a late invite to draft night so could be on the money.

wonder if the giants would match 3 high first round bids, Setterfield, Perryman and Cumming?

Of mcluggage and aisworth - who's game would transfer better into the AFL?
McLuggage's composed class or Ainsworth's energetic game.
Will you get a more week in week out clean consistent performance from a clug and more flashy exciting but hit and miss game from Ainsworth?

Large part of me wants some class around the packs like we haven't seen since the GM Simon Black.

The other wants the excitement of a ball inside 50 to a dangerous Ainsworth where you know something's gonna happen.

Happy to dangle a leg either side of the fence for the next 20 hours

need class in the middle imo. Too many years we have had passengers in the middle and ball watch, and then we also had the fail Hanley midfield experiment. Elite mids are hard to find and McCluggage has massive upside

You know you are doing it tough when you are getting grumpy about losing players you haven't even drafted yet. Think McCluggage is the type to stay. He has said he is close to his family and loves getting back to see them, but he also choose to move away for school and footy already. Considering where the team is at, i think he would enjoy coming up with the rest of the young guys.

I reckon McCluggage's something is gonna happen factor is right up there too. He is a genuine playmaker, not just a link man.

3 picks in the first round for the giants its a bit worrying, surely they do not have enough points to match and will go into deficit which basically means they think they will be penalised next year their 1st and 2nd picks and are covering for it by being reckless this year, think afl should protect the integrity in the comp here by probs kicking them out of the first 2 rounds of the next 2 drafts

Yup, he has the ability to do damage himself but also put a teammate into space and set up play as well. Will be one of those midfielders who are very damaging with their disposals.

I didn't realise Warrnambool had a team in the AFL?

Name one player from Warnambool who ever stayed at the Lions for their whole career!

GO ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
