Ainsworth v McGG......... tossed the mental coin 100 times and no answer still.

As to the rest, there are so many permutations I am just happy to be a watcher. Love them all. Mind you, would be happy with a punt on Parfitt.

I can't see why McCluggage can't develop his body to that of a Josh Kelly or Lachie Whitfield at GWS. Both of them were thin when they were drafted and are still pretty slender, but they both get by ok.

My concern with McCluggage is that he doesn't have the frame and athletic gifts that will allow his game to succeed at AFL level.

He has narrow shoulders, some one else mentioned thin wrists. My concern is he doesn't have the frame to fill out to handle the rigours to play an inside and outside game at AFL level. He doesn't have top end speed. He's about to step in to an environment where everyone is bigger, and faster, and more intense.

He's not going to have the same space and time.

You see it in many sports at junior level where kids with elite skills fail at the pro level because they don't have the body, athleticism and speed to compete.

If you take a good look at Ainsworth, not only does he already have a developed body, he's got long arms and large hands, to go with elite speed. He's got the physical gifts to succeed, along with the game sense to play multiple positions.

McCluggage could be special, he could also be found out.

A couple of things there..he is deceptively strong,and has developed over the year,any kid who works on a dairy farm is not scared of hard yakka.He is similar to Pendlebury , if you need further reassurance , remember young,even old, Nigel Lappin.

It's fair enough to be concerned about something which is important, but I'm not sure that there's any substance to those concerns.

Nigel Lappin was mentioned yesterday, but anyone who was around in 98 will remember just how skinny Black and Power were at age 18- how those guys looked when they walked into the club makes HM look like a bodybuilder by comparison.

Jack Redden is a more recent analogy, he also developed well physically from a lower base than HM.

Been saying it for awhile but not going to take any plaudits.

Just to add Cotchin took a couple of years but it was mainly due to injury (ankle) I think before he became a mainstay of Richmond's best 22.

well I hope h McClug is similar to cotchin only In style and is much better ability/output wise..cothcin a very very good player...but I b liil disappointed if H McClug's ceiling is " cotchin"
