Any obscure guys that FJ will pick instead of these blokes?wa flogged vc by 10 goals brodie , atley , mccullage got plenty of it , battle kicked 4-5
Speaking about previous drafts The Menadue pick over Blakely is shaping up a possible silly move as was indicated by a few just after the draft in the scrutiny.
Blakely was rated higher in the phantoms as most know in the lead up and the pick raised a few eyebrows for some because although Menadue is a talent and we hope he develops and becomes a good player for us he is still a risk due to his lack of physical development as can be the case with the slight types and Blakely, based on the phantoms, simply was not expected to drift from a first rounder in some quarters to later second round.

Menadue just needs a bit more size imo he keeps running to the right spots and uses it well. He will be even better with more size and getting it 20 times a game.Don't see anything wrong with the choice of Menadue , as far as being 'afl fit', he's ahead of CEllis atm

Inside midfielder, definitely will be around at our first round. But for me, i think he's more of a 40+ pick at this stage. Angus the best Brayshaw out of the family.Bishop do you think brayshaw (the brother of the dees player) could be around our first pick? Touted as a hard at it mid right? Any info would be great mate.
Of only we had a secound round pick. Be interesting to see how he goes and if he gets some good form up how his draft positioning could change. Has missed a big chunk of football with a foot injury earlier in the year but has recently come back to Sandy Dragons and played ok for a couple of games.

Bishop who would you take currently at pick 5. And maybe lets say pick 10 if we manage to climb. Take out the academy kids to save worrying about where they're bid on etc.
Cheers for the reply.Taking out academy kids let's say the to 5 go like this
Ess- Will Brodie
Brisbane- Sam Petrevski-Seton
Freo- Todd Marshall
GC- Jack Bowes (someone bids)
Pick 5 Richmond- I'd take Hugh McCluggage/(any of the above except Marshall).
McCluggage has been very good at TAC Cup level averaging 27 disposals. Bit like Scott Pendlebury in traffic, able to make everything appear in slow motion making good decisions by hand or foot to clear the ball. McCluggage was also one of Vic Country's best against WA yesterday, with 27 disposals and six marks.
At Pick 10, I'd suggest a classy ball user off HBF like Andrew McGrath. Athletic running half back, averaging 32 disposals at the TAC Cup. Also collected a huge 44 disposals, 19 tackles and 14 clearances against Gippsland Power in the TAC Cup in May.Has one of the best disposal efficiencies in the draft pool.
If not maybe an inside midfielder like Sam Powell-Pepper who crashes in hard in the middle. 188cm, 16 disposals and three goals yesterday for WA. His kicking is pretty bad and I'm big on people who can kick.
Maybe aggressive midfielder Daniel Venables & Inside Mids Dylan Clarke & Jonty Scharenberg probably come into consideration. But at this stage they're in the 20s for me.

Powell-Pepper sounds what we need if you exclude the kicking. Just how bad is it? Also, is he quick?
Otherwise we could certainly use a classy user off half back. Been a big weakness for us IMO.
You really need to not take any notice on phantom draft selections as a basis to make an opinion on players. Do it 5 years down the track to do this, and there is way to much intangibles it this anyway. The question though is will Blakely be better.
Another interesting one was Dunkley versus Riloi where Dunkley was talked up more prior to the draft than Rioli, he was at the club, where worries over his kicking and some say we reached for Rioli. The talk prior to the draft indicated Dunkley rated higher than Rioli as I recall
Hi is no skinnier than say what Fyfe was. Lets not start speculating on what may happen just yet.He is not ahead of C Ellis. Menadue still is a slight body risk. C Ellis should fill out a little more and does not have the same body risk as Menadue.
Menadue is a bit like Oakley Nicholls, one hopes his body comes good and fills out but it may not!

Yes. I'm probably breaking code here but we are looking at a bloke called Royce Dhonka. Red head on baller dominating the Inland Oil Rig League in WA.
