I agree, the ruckmen in this crop look fairly talented. If one suits our game plan then I hope we pounce. What attracts you to McCluggage?
Unfortunately I heard McCluggage comes with a bit of McBaggage...

In my view:
Game 1, Tasmania were just too small and the talls did well for Vic Metro.
McLarty played a good game up forward, much better than the week before- Although his leading still needs some work ,his marking is crucial. Pat Kerr only kicked one goal (played the second half at CHB) had six marks. Jack Reaper kicked three in the same fashion swapping with Kerr at HT. Pat Naish (2017 & Rich F/S) was a one of the better players, I thought bottom ager Sam Hayes rucked really well. Dylan Clarke & Tim Taranto spent more time forward than they do for TAC Cup teams. Oli Florent solid on ball, starting to believe he's a genuine chance at being drafted.
Game 2: NT were much faster, but made some bad efforts. Lachie Walker would have had 20 disposals, Corey Lyons had a nice game on the outside too. 192cm forward Karl Brown led up well and kicked two, Daicos moves really well- Probably had 10 disposals, was quiet in saying that & so was Callum Brown. Haydn Blythe did some nice things on ball.
Ultimately I think the better players were the ones in the first game, but Vic Metros top 25 ish players will be good- still think the depth after that is questionable....
do you know who was defending him? If he had a direct match up.Kirby kicked 4 in the Vic Country trials which is good to see.
I want Josh Battle just for his name.

I can't wait for the real thing to start, exciting times
In your opinion (and at this early stage), where do you see the lowest pick him going at?Pick 18 isn't high enough a pick for Battle![]()
I can't see him going outside the top 3In your opinion (and at this early stage), where do you see the lowest pick him going at?

This is what I'm reading. He could easily go top 5, at latest pick 10.
The KPF that will be likely around our first is Patrick Kerr.
I don't think we have a huge need for a kpf at this stage really, I really wanted Hardwick last season and can already see he is doing well at Hawthorn. Still think we need more goal kicking power but more small to medium forwards. Don't think our list really needs a Hrovat or Hamilton rather it needs guys that will impact the scoreboard as depth, yet can still provide work up the ground. He could easily go top 5, at latest pick 10.

It becomes a debate between athletic ruck who can be a marking target or mobile CHF. Really you only need one or the other and we already have two in Roughy and Boyd. If you want a mobile marking target just for the sake of having a tall with skills who can mark and make contests you may as well have a tall midfielder play the role. Not many are better at it than a Blicavs from Geelong but I'm sure we could get it from the Bont. Rather recruit a tall mid than a mobile CHF who doesn't hit the scoreboard hard.Hence the discussion about Kayle Kirby above.
I'd also like a CHF who can give us another marking option but be athletic enough and have very good skills to have an effect around the ground too. I can see that in Kerr.

a very good kick? Sign him up..Kerr does hit the scoreboard hard.
It is just he also has the athletic traits and has a very good kick which is pretty darn important in our game plan.
I still want the best available talent, regardless of position.
I'm positive that the Drink will manage to find them a position, even if we seem to have an abundance of that type of player.
a very good kick? Sign him up..
How tall is Kirby right now?
tall stay-at-home goalkicker Pat Kerr will roam further up the ground. “We’re looking to utilise his kick,” Notman said of Kerr. “He’s probably one of the better kicks in our side.”
still half asleepKirby is 181cm
still half asleep
I meant Kerr..
