Ryan is very Wood like but with a bigger bag of party tricks. Not as defencive but very similar. Has very good skills, reads the ball as good as anyone on our list, great contested grab and takes the game on when needed.
I watched him play senior footy as a 17 year old. Badly rolled his ancle in the second quarter, he was taped up and put in a forward pocket and then kicked 4 goals in a quarter to salvage a draw for his side.
Has that ability to turn it on when need be.
Transitioning to AFL won't be an issue. Went from local footy to senior VFL in a short time and on debut was BOG against a Box Hill Hawks side that had 10 Hawthorn players in it.
Anything can happen on Draft Night but from what I've heard around the traps we are extremely keen.

It doesn't sound like Ryan will be there at 26.
Depends purely on who Sydney take at pick nine, if they get Logue
(unlikely) then Ryan at pick 19 makes sense, but if they are forced
into a different option at pick 9 (likely) then a Brennan Cox might
be the go at pick 19 this is pure guesswork though.

I've heard through the same traps that Sydney won't take Ryan with their second pick, they're hoping he slides out.

Luke Ryan does look good but I don't know if he's really needed when we have Roarke on the list, who I personally rate very highly. Is there room back there for both?

I suppose you could say that about nearly anyone we draft though. These are the struggles of having a good list without obvious pressing needs.

PICK 16: PORT ADELAIDE — WILL HAYWARD

Clubs: North Adelaide/South Australia

Position: Forward

Size: 186cm, 76kg

Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, Hayward is the perfect pick for the Power.

Hayward plays forward and has terrific hands. The best hands. A lot of people are talking about these hands. They’re just tremendous. A good size too, not small at all.

We probably said the same about Caleb Daniel when Hrovat and Honeychurch are on the list.

Best available in the first round for me.

So we're gonna use pick 70whateveritis??
Brodie Romensky of Ronke or some other kid with major flaws in his game that are ironed out in a professional environment and everyone will wonder how he slid.

yeah but with those attributes he could be useful in most parts of the ground - elite intercept mark and excellent decision maker and ball user (apparent attributes anyway - I have no idea personally)
