You would think that the deal between Freo and GWS would close to being done as they have known for quite some time the kid wants to be moved one. I think our hopes of getting McCarthy for a third round pick are dashed. He will more than likely cost us a secon round pick, potentially next years

you would think the AFL would step in if it looks like McCarthy may have to sit out another year because Cameron is still overly grabby, even with all the buttloads of assistance they have received from head office as it would be a bad look for them.

It just looks like Cameron is trying to save face after missing out on 2 first rounders (one of them pick 3) after stuffing up last year.

I would hope the AFL step in as it is becoming a joke. I recall that the AFL were going to step in when Robert Warnock wanted to eb traded to Carlton but we refused to trade him as we werent happy with the deal. We ended up settling for that deal however, whether or not we felt the rpessure from ther AFL or not im not sure though.

We need some of their uncontracted players to walk out, not ask to be traded. The AFL will revisit their academy zone at some point. The Riverina is already an AFL area so does not really qualify as an area bringing new players into the game. The sooner they do it the better, but they will wait longer than shorter, I imagine.

Also, the reality is, if helping ourselves also inadvertently means helping them, then we would do it.

For some reason we never seem to do any deals like that of downgrading a pick to get two lower picks. The Eagles did it to good effect to get the man they wanted in Sheed a few years ago. You would hate for us to do a deal like that only for it to blow up[ in our face and the player/players we want not be available anymore though.
