What sort of rocket scientist thinks that a scenario where twice as many people get locked out of a game than can attend it is a good idea? I don't care what Gordon thinks. The club needs to stand up on behalf of its Victorian membership who turn up in good numbers for every game here, and for those who travel to support the team.

So because a second tier club sells a game for a heap of $$$ to Ballarat, we have to go out of our way to play in some regional town with no compensation? I'd be telling the AFL that we'll give that one a miss.

The thing is, I bet the Bulldogs get an extra game in Melbourne as the away team to make up for it, their supporters will be able to buy home and away Melbourne memberships so won't miss out on a thing.

The club makes it a priority to sell Victorian Memberships and get as many games as possible for our members over there, let the clubs who sell games play against themselves at these secondary locations.

you still need more evidence than a text to his GF.

There have been countless times where my GF has texted me asking me what I'm doing and my response is "Hookers and Blow" when I was doing neither, If I was a footballer and was staying overnight at the coaches house because of an illness and my girlfriend asked me where I was, I could easily reply with a smart alec response saying I was staying over to avoid drug tests because I have been doing loads of coke with supermodels, you need more evidence than a text to someone you are close with.
As much as we'd like to weaken a team we might play against, this board would be 100% in his corner and calling it a nothing story if he played for the crows.

What kind of a standard is that though? anyone guilty of a crime or impacted by the punishment is going to say it shouldnt be a crime as it applies to them, or that the penalty should be different.

What's all this about Ballarat?
Bulldogs want to play a game there next year for points and have nominated us and someone else (gws i think) as potential opponents.

Ballarats a nice town to visit and an easy drive from Melbourne, I'd go to a game there, but it seems silly to want to play us at a smaller ground, we always get great turnouts to games in melbourne

Imagine if we had to go to china and give up a home game...

We are not providing any public benefit for our free rent?

I just can't see how they could claim it costs the SANFL $2 million for us to have an open training session. We've had like 10 of them this year, the SANFL would have spent $20 million just lying around to splurge on that.

It's a Port Power fan having a whinge.
I think we worked it out. The claim is it costs the SANFL $2 million a year to maintain Footy Park, the whine then coming in because we use the oval for training. The oval is staying awhiles longer anyway, even when the grandstands get torn down, so seems just complaining for complainings sake I guess.

They've sold it for a gazillion dollars. I'm sure one of the terms is that the property is properly maintained during the period.

But then again, Port negotiated themselves out of getting a slice of the proceeds.

Idiots.
