Since the final siren of the semi-final have always thought next year will be very tough on us, everything that's happened with the playing group side of things coupled with a new coach and difficult draw it all seems to have set a perfect storm scenario for the football club to have a tough year on-field. Believe the class we do possess on-field though could keep us in the shuffle for one of the final two spots in the 8, believe it will be a real battle between the Bulldogs, an ever improving GWS & usual perennial finalists Sydney, Geelong and a aging North Melbourne. One things for certain we can't do what Port did this year focus so much on the tough start that you end up dropping winnable games, also historically every successful interstate team has proven it time and time again, just win your home games. You get 12 games in your home state, you need to win at least 9-10 of them so that you just need to pick up another 4-5 interstate to comfortably make finals, Fremantle and West Coast's home advantage is a lot bigger then both ours and Port's of course but they were again prime examples in 2015 of how easy it can be to make finals if you can just win at home.

On a broader sense speaking of home grounds this years Grand Final was a prime example why for the past 3 seasons as soon as Hawthorn won the prelim I've always thought of them as certainties, as long as the Grand Finals are held at the MCG no team has looked like beating these current Hawks the past 3 years on the big stage there and until that happens why bet against them. 2012 will always be an aberration for mine but by shooting themselves in the foot that day they've inspired themselves to continually do greater things, the ultimate lose a little to gain a lot. West Coast's team seems to only get stronger with the only question for mine being can they implement their zone team defence that was so successful this season with a more structured Defensive unit, Richmond have shown they have the ability to beat anyone in past couple of years only to fall flat on their faces when it mattered, think they might just give one big push this year and break through that top 4 ceiling still have to win a final if they make it though. Tipped Freo to just make the 4 purely on home advantage plus they won the first 9 games of the year this year without much of a Backline to go along with their non-existent Forward line so why can't they do it again, Ross Lyon to continually defy Football logic in a Home & Away season.

Collingwood should improve with their wealth and resources, on paper their recruiting looks great over the last few years but they continued to under perform & capitulate in the second half of seasons, 8 and 3 at the halfway stage this year only to fail, it wouldn't seem possible but with an even easier fixture and even less travel I expect them to go on with it this year, I'm tipping them to be the out of the box team the season usually throws up. Apparently Port's sole reason for missing finals this year was only because they got ahead of themselves, their fixture virtually guarantees they'd have to get really, really, really ahead of themselves to miss finals next season, with their fans usual 'soft draw' experts on other clubs I'm surprised the 2015 January Premiers haven't written to the AFL complaining about being given one of the softest in the history of the game the saints that they are.

Glass half empty approach...? You bet ya

Just have a feeling our horrible draw to start our year is going to break our season down before it's even begun. Couple that with a league that is slowly beginning to even out a bit.

With that said, I'll be there or watching every week cheering my guts out.

Go Crows, make me look like a dick for being so pessimistic!

Additional Prodictions:
- Essendon players to be found guilty of cheating but not receive suspensions due to the clubs unwavering cooperation during the investigation!
- Usual suspects continue to bag Thompson during yet another stellar season for being old.
- Walker to win Crows B&F

My prediction Fyfe ineligible after 2 week ban round 4

Wooden Spoon: CARLTON

Adelaide's:

Premiership: Hawthorn (got one more in them I reckon - would be pretty amazing if it happens)
Runner Up: North Melbourne
Coleman Medalist: JJ Kennedy (WCE)
Brownlow Medalist: JP Kennedy (Syd)
Team to slide: Bulldogs / Adelaide (tougher draws for both the main factor, but Adelaide will have to adapt to yet another new coach in addition to having the toughest draw in the league, while the Bulldogs overachieved last year and should slide down to around 11th this time around despite their wealth of young talent. Both should drop around 4 spots and I therefore don't think either will make the 8. There'll almost definitely be another team who drops more than this but none that I can justify right now)
Team to rise: Gold Coast / Port Adelaide (by around 6 spots each - couldn't split them. Ridiculously easy draws plus Port severely underachieved in 2015 and Gold Coast were ravaged by injuries to quality players to an extent I'm not sure I've seen before)
Wooden Spoon: Essendon

Adelaide's:
Leading goal kicker: E Betts (pipping Tex by a couple)
Most improved: C Ellis-Yolmen (Lever also a strong contender)
Position on the ladder: 10th
Will Milera debut? Yes: 2-3 games
Highest to poll in the brownlow: R Sloane (18 votes)

Port and Geelong to come into the Top 8 at the expense of us and the Dogs sadly, with the other 6 2015 finalists getting back there again. Hopefully I'm way off.
